So the new 2025 Gladiator got its first oil change. 100miles. Loaded with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (PUP). Now it will get progressive oil changes until it reaches 5,000 miles, then get changed every 5,000 thereafter.

Wow, I'm new to message boards like Robert. I hope he doesn't think that a Jeep engineer really stole my steering wheel. It was a joke, not something serious like alien abduction. Why do they the aliens only abduct me out of the Mojave and never the Rubicon? Is it the orange stitching? 🧐
There have been many dozens of far far worse disagreements - some pretty memorable ones, this was over a dumb steering wheel design.

I'm more bothered by the strained peas baby poop green they used in these.

edit: oops - looks like I already hit this one - oh, well.......

are you referring to '41? :CWL:
No, the dash insert color.
What interior design engineer (yeah, that's a real thing) came up with that???

This bit of orange - if you call it that, on the left end of the dash by the left door - really cheap looking - It's like they tried to make it look less plastic and more metal, but missed both. Sorry, nitpicky, I know - but why is it even there? Why not continue the orange stitching clear across the middle of the dash, from far right to far left.

I just wish instead of the cheap plastic piece in the pic, they'd have continued the stitching all the way to the very end.
It would have made it look more complete and finished instead of like "OK, now what". The center is orange stitching all across - except the very ends.

Probably too expensive to stitch that tiny bit and have a clean end.

On the other hand - they have a nice, clean, good looking stitch pattern here in a really short area, so it could be done.

They all hold up. Dust, dirt, grime - they don't fade. My truck sits in the sun in SoCal all day.

The Mojave was unique with its suspension and driver connection - more aggressively bolstered seats and a much better wheel. Half of the latter is gone.... I wonder if they neutered the seats too. Most Gladiator owners have no idea wtf I am talking about because they never drove a Mojave. The seats and wheel are better. They're unique among the models. Rubicon got none of this. That said...the Rubicon model should have these things too given the PRICE. The use of the hydraulic jounce stops is a major expense over cheap rubber stops - I'd not be surprised if those go next.

The first change they made was black springs versus the original gray that matched the skid. That's cosmetic... not many f***s given there...
but they've been getting lazy with the Mojave the past few years and it keeps getting worse. At least Rubicon hasn't been gimped. It appears the same as always. Stitch color isn't a big deal.

What's tripped me out in this thread are the weird Jeep fans who excuse anything Jeep does.

'I can't see a difference between the two wheels.' ( these people are BLIND and shouldn't have licenses )

'Jeep engineering removed the wheel because it was too aggressive for street and offroad driving. It was a phased-in engineering change.' ( after 5.5 years, because Jeep Cares(TM). Too bad they didn't re-engineer the rear window )

'Jeep removed the colored stitching because it fades and your hand oils stain it'. ( LOL )

Just stupid bullshit over and over. It's a Jeep thing I guess. Yes I'm triggered AF. Stop supporting Jeep GIMPING you while charging you asinine prices.

@ShadowsPapa first said he couldnt see a difference....then when shown the MAJOR difference..... he said perforated leather fills with dirt and grime ( LOL ) and doesn't hold up.... straight lmfao. Here's mine after 4 years with death gripped, butt clenching 100mph desert runs. I've not once cleaned the wheel. I'm sure someone will say ' bro I can see skin cells in there......not good '.

That isn't even close to the dash insert color, or the door panel arm rests, seats, etc.
Door panels are fine - but the arm rest color is horrible and will look dirty pretty fast.

Here's the steering wheel on the 2025 Grand Cherokee. Feels like two golfballs when you're steering in normal traffic situations. When you turn and let the wheel slip through your hand, to center, those golfball-size thumb pads get in the way.

Now at 9 & 3 with aggressive corning, they work fine...

Yeah, I agree however, de-contenting is a normal thing as a model gets on in years. It's not just a Stellantis thing. I will say at least they did ADD some things as standard: Like the safety group stuff. Which honestly in this day and age should be as it's offered in everyone else's car these days as standard. I do wonder though if the Jeep demographic would prefer this was a credited option if you remove it: IE, standard but you can choose to remove it for a credit.

All this being said, I don't support the whole de-contenting thing.

Mojave superiority complex. Untreatable

I've driven them all. And frankly, the Overland seats wrapped up and held you in the seats very well.
I drove Mojave, Sport, Rubicon and Overland.
Before the power seats in the X - there wasn't any real difference between Mojave seats and Overland seats. The "bolsters" were firm and held you nicely, almost form-fitting in a way. You didn't slide around in them on really rough ground. That's what I liked about the Overland seats vs. some of the other levels. (I bet certain Mojave owners have never driven a stock Overland so how can they say or compare?)

I noticed something my Mojave does that my Overland didn't - when hitting certain parts of a country highway with frost heaving - the Mojave's ass end left the ground and shifted to the right.
You could feel it jump over. It was a hard bump.
Never had that on the Overland. Something to get used to.

Over 5 years in the Overland so it was super easy when comparing models driving the others. Until they went to the POWER seats, the seat bottoms were pretty much the same. I do miss the seat bottoms that the Overland had and the prior Mojave had. These are flatter, luckily the seat back is pretty much the same.

I don't see any of them as "superior" to any of the others. Each has a purpose and an intended audience. They are each aimed at or marketed to people who want those features.

The Mojave is more "planted" feeling but with all of that extra weight and bigger tires, DUH. Weight does that.

The ride of a STOCK Overland is really not much different than a Mojave on our streets, country roads and highways. And some members here, past and present, who have owned both, have said similar, so it's not "just me".
Some things are more smooth, some things aren't any different at all. And that is having driven each level, comparing with no bias at all. I don't care what you have - if it's a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator of any level - it's all good.

Funny thing - someone is still talking about me - but maybe doesn't realize that he's got me blocked both ways (over a stupid-ass steering wheel). But that's all "whatever".
