What is the serial number of that "D" model?

When I get to work I’ll let you know I’m flying there this afternoon.

I flew hundreds of them. Campbell, Korea, Alaska, Boeing plant...

Bambi bucket?

Those beasts can lift a lot! I won't say the max weight I ever flew one, but it was far, far over 50K! Ours had aerial refueling.I could watch the sun set then rise again without ever getting out of the seat...

Bambi buckets are the Orange buckets that gang below helicopter for water dropping missions on wildland fires.
Wasn’t sure if you were asking but there ya go.

I was a flight engineer for about 12 years! Now I work on them fighting wildfires. I was at Campbell, Hood, Honduras and Drum. And of course all the deployments. I definitely flew over 50K lbs. we picked up down chinooks, and up armored bulldozers weighing over 25k lbs. Nice to meet a fellow hooker on here!

We use an internal water tank and a snorkel setup (big black hose hanging off the left gunner window) to suck the water into the tank. Then it has a valve system that releases the water out the center cargo hook hole.

Nice! I have seen that.
I was a NightStalker at Campbell then served in 7-101 as SIP for B-company, and later A-company and the battalion. By the time you were flying, I was likely flying for some other peeps in the Stan or Iraq.
During the third night of the Panama invasion, I was tasked with picking up a Seton Boat from a cradle at the west end of the Panama Canal and flying it, along with a SEAL team, to the Caribbean side for an assault. At 85%, the thing wasn't even light yet! I called command, and they said I was cleared to 135$ dual engine torque. Well, it took all of that and then some, but I got it done and inserted them on time. The aircraft tore several of the driveshaft mounts under the tunnel covers and tweaked an engine mount! Boeing had to rebuild it down there at Howard AFB over the coming year!
I also flew one in the Marine Corps WTI school, where they teach air combat maneuvering. I was the Army's first-ever air-air instructor pilot. That served me well too. On the opening night of Desert Storm, we had to evade three SAMs, which ultimately destroyed that aircraft as well. 24113 I think it was its tail number.
I flew them aerial refueling and did everything short of landing one on the moon. Retired from the Army with nearly 6000 hours of Chinook time. I never flew one again. I have flown many helicopters, turboprops, and jets. The Chinook is my all-time favorite flying machine. It is simply magnificent!

I know what they are. I have carried Bambi buckets in countries all over the planet.
Funny story. During that Haiti invasion thing, whatever you call it. I was tasked to carry a bambi bucket to drop water on crowds of people. I guess that was in lieu of shooting them. Ever see 1,700 gallons of an instant waterfalls hit a crowd? Freakin' awesome!
