First off, I'm new to the forum, and want to thank everyone for their posts/information/thoughts/experience, etc… This forum was instrumental in helping me research and choose various mods and I greatly appreciate all those members who have shared their experiences/expertise. I purchased my JT Rubicon about 5 weeks ago and have absolutely loved it. I had a difficult time finding a model with exactly what I wanted so I made a deal with the dealership to basically create what I wanted with a Rubi they had on the lot as opposed to ordering one. I drove it stock for about two weeks before dropping it back off to the dealership to have the lift, wheels/tires, grill, steel bumper, tonneau cover, and lights installed. I am more of a suburban crawler than an off roader but hope to get into it more now that I have a rig that can handle it. I have completed most of the mods I set out to do, a few are back-ordered, and a few more I am still considering. I'll add some better pictures once I install the Sliders & Sun Shade.
Installed:
2” Mopar Lift - So far so good. I can tell it has started to drop slightly since having it installed about 3 weeks ago. Slight rake but nothing crazy.
37” Nitto Terra Grappler G2 Tires - Not quit as aggressive looking as I would like and run smaller than I anticipated but the ride has been decent and I do a fair amount of highway driving so an AT made sense for me. Like just about everyone else on this forum I wrestled with going with 35's or 37's. I actually ordered BFG KO2s 35's and ended up changing things up at the last minute. Glad I did, I think that extra little bit of height goes a long way in creating the look I was hoping to achieve.
18” Black Rhino Abrams Gunmetal Wheels - Actually ordered the Black Armory Wheels first but they ended up being back-ordered and the Abrams were my second choice. Glad it worked out that way as I really like the gunmetal look with the Sting Grey paint.
Mopar Black Satin Grill
Mopar Steel Bumper and Brush Guard
Jeep Floor mats
Ram Phone Holder
Mopar 3 Piece hard tonneau cover
Mopar LED Headlights
HotHeads Headliner and Sound Assassin Strips - So far I am a big fan. They have definitely reduced the road noise and I can also feel a difference in the cabin temperature as well. I could hardly use the bluetooth speaker for phone calls on the HWY before I installed them. Its certainly still loud but has made a marked improvement.
Mopar grip handles
MORE Dead Pedal - I dropped the bracket behind the trim and spent 30 minutes fishing it out... I'm about 6'3, 200 LBs, so not huge but not small and trying to position myself to bolt this on was incredibly awkward.
Ordered:
Ace Engineering Rock Sliders - I wanted something that could work as a slider and a step. My wife and boys can barely crawl in and out of it as its stands now. I didn't like how many of the aftermarket steps left the pinch seam visible.
JTopUSA Sun Shade - These have been back-ordered but I learned quickly that taking the top of in the Florida sun and driving for a few hours with kids in the back makes for a hot and sunburnt afternoon.
Future Upgrades:
Re-Gear at some point - Going back and forth on this as the Nitto tires I run actually measure closer to 36". I'll probably end up pulling the trigger but figured I would give it a month or two to determine if I really thought it was necessary. Leaning towards the 4:88 but may spring for 5:13, undecided.
Upgraded Stabilizer Bar - Driving on the HWY isn't particularly enjoyable, its loud, the truck struggles to hold 8th gear, and drifts back and forth (especially when its windy). I know, its a Jeep and I'm fine with that but if I can improve the HWY comfort I will.
