Went to my local dealer today for the second oil change and was informed there was an outstanding PCM update (I had one done late last year under a recall campaign). The update on my paperwork is:

* 01 RSU 1 [RSU 22-231 22MY JT 3.6 L PDCM SOFTWARE UPDATE ***] 103 W

After I got home, I noticed that my cigarette lighter outlet and Oracle halos didn't work. I went back, they reviewed and told me that the fuse in the add-a-circuit fuse tap wasn't up to the circuit demands and replaced it. Everything worked after that. What I'm having trouble with is how the fuse worked w/o issue before the update. Does anyone know what this update does? Why would the fuse cause issues post update?

12 volt power outlet is powered directly from the fuse box and is accessory power switch. Lights are BCM controlled. I am with @IanNubbit , unrelated and just bad happenstance.

Like said - unrelated. The PCM has nothing to do with the draw on a circuit that could blow a fuse.
(also note that as cheap as those "add a circuit" kits are, you are getting the cheapest fuse China makes)

I re-used the original fuse from the Gladiator's fuse position when I dropped in the add-a-circuit tap. Not sure if that one could be considered junk, but I'm not sourcing parts for Jeep ;).

I should have added that the original fuse was not blown - that was one of the first things I checked (along with my wiring to ensure that there wasn't a break in the wiring). At this point, I'm happy it's working again and I'll just chalk it up to Hootbro's comment that it was bad happenstance.

Yup - he's right, coincidence. Most circuits like lighting are voltage controlled, possibly others are as well because the charging voltage can be as high as 15 volts.
In any case, the power for the PDC (where the fuses are) is independent of the PCM. Lighting especially. The 12v outlet is fed via the aux battery connection at N1 like most inside stuff.

LOL - who knows about Jeep fuses.

Took mine in for wave service, and to get my ambient temp sensor issue from 3 weeks ago on record (it's working great lately) and they said mine was listed for the same RSU 22-231
They didn't give any other detail as the guy was normally just the one who lined things up for service as they came in.
It says (RSU3) at the end of that line on the papers so there must have been others - the 22 indicates 2022 year for that RSU.

Didn't feel or sound any different when I got it back.

Interesting. Just got back from my first wave service. Mine says RSU 1. Maybe my imagination but seems throttle response is better, but wish I could find something that explains what it up grades.
