I have the 7" screen ( non XM ), I have already upgrade all the speakers and im not impressed.... Future plans I will move to the 8.4 and possibly a 4ch amp but for now I'm installing a Zapco ST-500XM III to run a Sundown E10 sub in a Fox Box. Im looking for suggestions on the following and any help will be greatly appreciated.

1. My current plan is to install the amp and line converter behind the back seat. I will be running a 4 gauge true copper power wire and im stumped on the cleanest way to run the cable. I have seen people run them through the floor gromet along the bottom of the frame and up into the engine bay....That to me seams to leave it exposed to elements and possible damage when off roading. I would prefer to to run it under the carpet but is it possible to run into the engine bay without drilling?

2: Amp mounting, My truck will not show truck I plan on getting out there which will lead to bruises dings and cuts im sure....Is behind the seat the safest most secure place or should I mount it under the passenger seat.

Anyone with experience good or bad?

there are numerous threads on audio builds.

I run everything off the stock 7".

run OFC wire for all you audio applications.

I ran my power wire along the windshield cowl and then through the grommet on the driver side. I drilled a hole in it to slide the wire through. I put my 4ga under my door sills all the way to behind the rear seat. I have my amp and lc2i behind my rear driver seat. I need to build an amp rack, i just havent. tip: never run your RCAs on the same side with your power wire.

I used an lc2i to hook up my amp for my subs. Im running two skar shallow mounts in an eathshaker sealed box. I have a ported box from SKAR now, but i havent swapped yet. I wish i had gone 2dvc instead of 4dvc but whatever.

I run jbl 3.5s in my front dash and i did the 6x9 mb quarts in my roll bar. I have a four channel amp, but i havent hooked it up yet.

even without my speakers amplified, i cant hear the wind at 50mph with the doors off.

My subs could be a little more for me. I went budget for a reason, i dont advocate for skar, but its cheap and it works. I want JL tw3s eventually or id love to do an apline build.

There are few builds on this forum that will BLOW you away. My setup is a joke to some other builds.

Hope i answered your question.
