33" tire option for 18" Overland wheel

I e also got an Overland and hated the stock Bridgestone tires. I went from the stock 255/70/18 to a 265/70/18 Falken Wildpeak AT3W. I know there isn’t much of a size difference between them but I gotta say I love the Falkens. They worked great this past winter and they aren’t a loud, annoying tire like some. I’d check them out imo.

I ended up ordering a set of Nokian RockProof mud tires in size 275/70/18 (load range E). The deal from SimpleTire was really good - $889 shipped for 4. I'll pick up something different for winter. These tires look awesome; I've had great luck with Nokian tires (for winter) in the past. I'm also going to put a set of 1.5" or 1.75" spacers on as well.

When I bought my Overland and sold my Sport S, I swapped the rims and tires from one to the other. You can pick up a set of 17's off a Sport S fairly cheap.

Yeah, I'm thinking of picking up a set of Sport 17" rims cheaply for winter and putting a set of 31.5" snow tires on it.

I ordered Terraflex 1.75" hub centric wheel spacers.

Update- the order was canceled due to out of stock with no expected in stock date.

I’m now considering 295/70/18 possibly some Falken Wildpeaks. Given the spacers I have in order, will this tire size fit the stock Overland rims? No lift or level needed? How much of a drag on acceleration and braking are tires of this size?

These are certainly it mud tires, but perhaps a better compromise given the road driving I do as well.

OK, I ordered the 295/70/18 Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires today; may have them tomorrow. I also have the Terraflex spacers, 1.75." I'll put the Gladiator up on jack stands and remove all 4 wheels and tires; have the shop next door mount and balance them; then I'll install the new spacers and new tires. If things are tight, I might install a front 1.5" spacer life. I think it will definitely make the Gladiator look a lot more rugged than the original Bridgestone All Seasons. Hopefully it drives as well.

295/70/18 Falken Wildpeak AT3W installed on stock Overland rims - no rubbing at full lock - zero modifications.

However, I would suspect there would be rubbing and / or fender damage if you went off road like this.

I intend to install my 1.75" Terraflex spacers soon, maybe tonight. I wish they were only 0.75" instead of 1.75, because I don't want them to stick out too far, but we'll see how they look. As it is, the tires look great but the Jeep still looks a bit narrow, which needs to be fixed.

I'll post photos once the spacers are on. I also plan to do a 1.5" front level, or possibly a 2.5" front / 1.5" rear spacer lift. I don't want the vehicle to handle poorly however.

I would say in my very short drive, the Jeep does not drive quite as nice. Ride is noticeably more harsh, and the steering is heavier. Not a surprise considering the load range E tires and added width. Pressures are at 38. I might drop down to 35psi, see if it helps at all.

275/70R18 Falken Rubitrex A/Ts. Got them yesterday. Couldn’t take the Bridgestones any longer. And yes …it’s a tarp in the garage. My garage is also my gym.

Did the spacers last night. Everything seems good. With the larger tire, you immediately see the need to at least level the front end, so I'll probably do a 1.5" puck level. That still doesn't give these tires much room to flex though, so I might do the 2.5" front / 1.5" rear. Not really wanting to modify the suspension much at this point, but still want off-road capability.
