I’ve seen extremely mixed messages on this forum, and also when calling local shops. Want to know from those of you that have had 35’s without a lift or personally know someone that has, what’s the final verdict?
This is for an overland and I would like to be able to haul and play in the dirt without tire damage.

What I’ve read and seen, and the website referenced above also seems to confirm:
35s work if you have different fenders, and/or use wheels other than factory oem and you don’t disconnect your sway bar off-road; possibly needing to adjust steering stops.
(Rubi and Mojave are good to go stock, seems maxtow is close to good to go)

Just go 35s at Discount Tire. Do a test fit of one, if it works, do the rest. If it doesn’t, go another direction. They will refund you or put it towards what will work.

Max Tow, bone stock (no lift/level of any kind) they will fit on stock wheels and not rub, lock to lock steering, with saw bars connected it never rubbed off road at the farm... I pulled it on a rock pile that was a couple feet trying to get it to rub and it never did. If it doesn’t rub off the pavement I highly doubt it will over bumps in the road

If you have a Rubicon and or max tow model then you can runn35's without rubbing. On The Rubicon you don't have to do anything, on the Max tow you either have to remove the air dam that leads up to the fenders that cover the fog lights or trim it about half a inch back on the bottom. I ran them on Max tow for a few days without any issues or spacer on stock wheels. If you have a regular sport or overland a 35 will hit the lower control arms at full lock, I've seen this first hand on both, one of my buddies has a regular sport and another the overland model, both hit the lower control arms with stock wheels and 35's at full lock. Another buddy with A Max Tow had no issues and I had no issues either. Here's mine before I added the lift, 315 70 17 BFG KO2S

Reference this video for what you need to do for them to not Rub on a Max Tow

If you got a Overland or regular sport you will need wheel spacers or wheels with more back spacing to keep the tire off the lower control arm

So you’re still currently running 35’s without a lift? Any issues when hauling a heavy load and going over bumps?
Aftermarket wheels, no Lift and no modifications on a daily driver Sport. On stock wheels, you may have issues with front air dams and lower control arms. As for off road and hauling, I concede that I have done non of that but I defer to a few post above me that attest to that.

Not gonna lie, I was holding my breath when I mounted my 35s on my bone stock Sport then turned the wheels lock to lock.

My truck didn’t come with those air dams... I’ve seen 2020 model years with them and all the 2021 models I looked at before mine didn’t have the air dams. Mine has a cover for the fog light rears but it’s tucked into the back of the bumper... if you have a ‘21 no trimming needed
