No problem.

I found Tom to be cheaper than the online quotes. I don't remember the exact price difference but it was by $hundreds.

As to your other questions, you have time to buy the factory warranty. You do not have to commit to the selling dealer right then and there. (Although, they will probably tell you you have to.) I bought my 1st warranty from Tom about 6 months after I got my first Glad. The second warranty I bought from Tom the next day after I bought Glad #2.

As far as pricing, I think his prices are set according to what package you want. I don't think he gives different people different pricing (contrary to what most dealers do).

Lastly, its hard to recommend a warranty to a person. Its kind of like insurance coverage. Some people will buy the bare minimum insurance required by law. Others will insure to the max. Its all risk vs reward.
Agreed, such in my case I am looking at the Maximum Care Package from MOPAR... so far I got a quote of $1329 for a 96 month/85,000 mile plan. But the e-quote does not include the MOPAR lift, because I couldn't find out how to add it.. I have reached out to them and asked how, waiting to hear back. I wouldn't think it would change much... fingers crossed. Taking the quote to Gupton anyway to help negotiate.

***Yes, I know its an individual choice if you want/need a warranty. ***Yes, I know everyone's experience is different. I am posting this thread for general information and some friendly conversation with fellow Gladiator owners as well as seeking some useful knowledge on the subject.... so...(Before you say "That's why these "what are you paying for XXXX?" threads are kind of pointless and I don't understand why people post these questions") DON'T

I'm getting ready to pick my vehicle up next week.. Every time I've purchased a vehicle , I've received a full court press in the finance office to purchase an extended warranty. On the plus side(if true), my dealership is (Gupton) and I have heard they do not try to up sale you and the buying process is really quick and smooth.

So I have some questions: (If you purchased or will be purchasing an extended warranty)

Do we need one for the Gladiator ? Is the OEM warranty good enough ?
How does an extended warranty differ from the OEM ?
How was your experience at the dealership ? Did they make you sweat and pressure you ?
What type of warranty were you offered ? Did they give you several options ?
What company or companies were carrying the warranty(s) they offered ?
How much did you pay ?
What were the terms ?
What's the best way/technique to use to get the best price ?
Should you purchase it out of pocket or build it into the financing ?
Would buying directly from FCA(Jeep) be the best choice ?

What about:
If you passed on the extended warranty at the dealership and you wait close to the time the original warranty expires and then purchase one. I know on the last couple vehicles, I got bombarded with phone calls wanting to sell me an extended warranty . When I checked with the actual car manufacture, I was able to purchase one relatively cheap (cheaper than what was originally offered when I made the purchase) and cheaper than what was offered on the many phone calls.

These are just some quick thoughts/questions, hopefully you guys/gals can fill in the blanks !
Sort of keeping an eye on this as we have in the past purchased extended warranties - only ever used them on a Stratus we had and really glad we had it then because of the constant engine and head issues with it - it more than paid for itself before we traded the car for........ a Jeep years ago.
Interested as there are many different types, different sources, and looking to see what others have had good luck with (and apparently there's better places than others to buy them)
I'm still in factory warranty - but maybe it's too late for me to get one, my wife's WK2 is just over a year old and less that 5,000 miles so maybe not too late for her.
Information gathering time.

There are different packages, I know - and the dealer of course wants you to buy the gold or platinum or gold pressed latinum level. The good thing - when we bought 'em through the dealer and then traded later, we got hefty refunds back so it wasn't a huge waste.

Years back my wife and I started only looking at Certified used vehicles and adding the extended warranties through the manufacture at super reasonable rates.

1. We drive a lot of miles running after kids and trips for family events.

2. Almost everything now we buy is turbo charged, or like our Volvo…super charged and turbo charged, so almost any repair bill is going to get potentially costly in a hurry.

3. Electronics are so complicated and expensive that coverage is almost a no-brainier.

4. Family friend who’s family is multiple generations in dealership ownership let us know that there is usually almost 100% mark up on extended warranties and the dealerships have a LOT of room to roam before they’re “not making anything”…. No matter what they tell you. It is one of the few things you can truly save some money on if you stand your ground.

We have had them on GMC, Ford, Volvo…. And now Jeep.

We’re routinely get bigger and play just to have a $100 deductible, double check it covers turbos and electrical ( none cover wearables like brakes anyway), call it a day.

We also get the CNA or other 3rd party plans that only require an ASE Certified mechanic so you can wheel in almost anywhere to get work done if traveling in rural areas. Something to consider if you’re traveling to pick up your Jeep. For us there isn’t a Volvo dealer in the entire state, so no sense in getting Volvo specific warranty as an example.

Without looking at paperwork, I believe we were around $1,600 for extended warranty on the 2021 Willy’s eco diesel. The dealership started much higher, I told them straight out what I’d be willing to pay, and that at that price I’d be adding a spray in bed liner and tonneau cover. They “gave up” $1,000 knowing they were getting it all back before I signed, so nobody was happy, but everyone got something (F&I and Accessory manager both “sold” me something, the penetrating stare of my spouse softened a little…winners all around?).

GMC was a challenge initially, but covered major issues eventually…. Ford extended we’re fantastic…. And with 3 different vehicles that had ecoboost engines, we made those pay (dealerships never complained about using them/push back/poor pay rates in back side either).

Knick on wood, the Volvo just passed factory warranty, so we’ll see how the CNA extended does moving forward if needed…. But already checked with both highest rated import shops in town and both happily take it and like dealing with them.

Only at 8k miles on Gladiator, so lots of factory warranty left…. But we covered out past 100k miles as it’s my vehicle now, but was bought specifically to hand to current 11 year old when she gets her DL at 16. We average about 6-10 years per vehicle, and the diesel Glady is slated for a long, long life with us. So cheaper to extend now than down the road with higher miles and older age.

***Start at 50% off “retail” price and hold tough, make them bring you back a number 3x until you’ve closed the gap to what you’re willing to spend.

***I had/have no intention of lifting my Gladiator or significant after market modifications…. If you are going to, make sure you check potential coverage issues!!!

I repurchased an extended warranty from my dealer when I bought my MY2021, it’s underwritten by CNA National. They canceled the contract for my MY2020 Gladiator and I was refunded 80% (guess this amount is based on time & milage). First foray into Jeep for me (although 2nd Gladiator) and I’m still unsure about reliability longevity I guess.
Sorry, forgot to include the terms:
8yrs/100k miles, $99 deductible, covers virtually everything on the truck
Cost was ~$2800

That quote ($1329) was without the MOPAR lift... it got revised to $1838 with the lift.. so a charge of $509 extra for the lift.

I used the extended warranty on a Mercedes and it was a nightmare. Could not get an oil leak covered because they wanted to tear into the engine and do a bunch of checks where I go back and forth between the dealer. Then there's the reasonable labor cost. They work every day of the year to hose you.
I wish I never got it.

I paid for my truck outright. I don’t drive it too much but 5/60k is good for me. Extenders are just betting it will fail and hoping they will cover it.

I never do extended warranties for my cars. In my experience they never end up being profitable. I take my chances and pay for any repairs after the warranty out of pocket. For the dozen+ vehicles I've owned I have never had to pay for a repair that cost more than the warranty would have cost. New cars end up being pretty reliable, though this is my first Mopar vehicle so time will tell.

Plus I rarely keep a car for more than 3 years, I got bad car ADD so for those cars that would be a total waste of money

After looking on Chrysler Warranty . com (Chrysler warranty is now MOPAR) I was quoted the following for the MAXCARE : (The quote is fo a 2022 JTRD)
Covered Months96
Covered Miles85,000
Deductible$200
Plan Price$1,509.00
Selected UpgradeNone
Upgrade Price$0.00
Sales Tax$0.00
Discount$180.00
Total Plan Price$1,329.00
Based on those that have purchased an extended warranty, how does this stack up ? I was going to take this quote to Gupton , I believe I read that they are matching Tom W. prices. *Reminder, this quote is from Chrysler for the MOPAR MAXCARE , it seems to have every box checked for coverage.
Is this for a new purchase or after some miles?

I would double check the fine print, is this an actual MOPAR warranty ? They have to atleast recoup thier cost on the warranty, $500 seems 2-G-2-B true.. but hopefully its on the up and up and you got a great deal.

Yes sir, actual Mopar warranty. I bought three vehicles that day and each deal had a well below cost warranty.
