Going to get inspection they didnt even take it in because they noticed the plate lights were out. Didint realize that the CMB was not working at first, only that my rear plate lights were out.
Bought OEM part of ebay, didn't work. Bought separate plate light and tried to splice into wiring for plate light; didn't work and should have been a clue. Ended up getting the new plate light working after splicing into DRL of drivers side break light. Raced to get inspection and they would'nt pass it because the 3rd brake light didn't work and they wouldn't pass it because it wasn't "stock break light". Didn't mention I already have additional break light mounted on back rack.
Going to try another place tomorrow and hopefully it'll pass.

Here is my problem.... pretty sure the CMB and plate lights are not getting power. I checked connections where mounted and inside tailgate. Where else can there a potential fault in the wiring? If I can figure out where the faulty connection is, I think the lights will come back on.
Anyone else run into this issue? Looks like there are a lot of problems with the CMB and the connectors or circuit board of the actual break light.

Really irritated how cheaply made some of these things are and how jeep seems to not want people to repair their own things by keeping parts off the market. Thought I just saw a commercial where jeep mocked rich manufacturers that only make expensive vehicles they can afford.

Grateful for any help on this... I think this is the first time I wasn't able to just find the answer here without posting.

Follow the wires and check fuses. If you’ve done any mods lately in that area check that area. Did you have power at the connections or just confirmed they were connected?

Start at the connection to the light then on the associated fuse and run a volt meter on every connection. That’ll tell you where the power is lost.
