So I have a 67d mount on order for my Mojave. I’m a big fan of keeping the interior clean and tidy looking (attached is a pic on how I ran the cable in my JK with a Sony head unit. The cable ran up behind the dash and up into the storage tray).

I plan on utilizing one of the USB ports inside of the center console to use for CarPlay, and try and tuck the cable up under the center console to run up to the mount.

Does anybody have the 67d (or similar) and show how you routed your phone cable? I’d like to keep it tucked up or somewhat hidden as best as possible.

I don't like hanging wires draped over the dash either. I used the Bulletpoint Platform Dash Mount. To get power to the mount I wired in under the dash a usb power converter with two usb ports. To get the cables to the mount I ran the cables (micro usb and lightning) from the converter up and behind the radio up through a 1/2 inch hole I drilled in the plastic dash cover to the mount. This may be a bit extreme, but I wanted it to look good and to maintain the usb power outlet in the dash.

Thanks! I’m not too sure I want to drill anything, but looks great!

I also have the Bullet Point mount. I used a 1' cable and tucked it behind the control trim. I didn't want to drill into the top of my dash either. My center console Usb kept giving me CarPlay issues so I use the front. I would like a cable with a 90* for it though so the cover would close more.

Can you expand on a “how-to” on this for me?

There's not much to it, that control panel just clips in, no screws. I used a plastic wedge tool from the passenger grab handle side to pop it off then just tucked the cable in. The cable is just long enough to reach the bottom of the phone so it doesn't end up flopping all over the place.

Thanks! My situation may be a little different as I’ll be drive-side mounting mine.

If you are still looking for ideas on this, and like the design of the Bulletpoint/67d mounting systems, I was thinking of doing something similar. I always cringe at the idea of permanent/destructive modifications, but this is extremely minor.

If you remove the head unit (just pop clips, a few screws, and wiring harnesses), you can basically touch the underside of the top of the dash. It's really nothing but a thin layer of plastic. All you need is a hole large enough to fit the head of a charging cable through, and you can make it look nice with any of dozens of rubber grommets on Amazon:

https://smile.amazon.com/ISPINNER-5...86&sprefix=rubber+grommet,aps,100&sr=8-4&th=1

The mounting rail will even hide the grommet once you're done.

My gladiator is in order, but I already have the Bulletpoint mount with two phone mounts on it. I am watching this for ideas. My question is…..which USB outlets support Apple Car Play?

Thats a good idea, and kinda sounds like what I did with my JK but I ran it between the rubber seal along the bottom of the windshield.

I actually ran mine up from the center console and kinda tucked it up under the center console along the footwell. I will try and upload a pic of what I did, as like you I cringe at doing permanent mods...... for the most part lol.

Where do you plan on mounting it? Grab handle? That's what I'm thinking about. Got a list or a set of links for your set-up? Pics when done!?

I'm looking at more on the left side of the steering wheel on the grab handle. Tuck it up against the pillar. Doesn't impede the screen in center and doesn't impede the looking left.
