FYI here's a 12 v outlet that has been in use etc for 30 some years in my Comanche. ;)

Since I've been trying to do some repair work on it.
Now the one in my Gladiator is a little better in some areas. Being hooked up with Anderson connector to house battery in cab. It has magnets to hold in place on topper.

Still a cluster #### of wires somewhat, but I can QD and remove the stuff from the bed.

If I kept the burned outlets I'd have several if not a half dozen. Few melted and few just come apart.
Thank you, magnets, i will have to see it that is feasible as everything is aluminum now. Ive glued some in my cab rear windows for screens I brought over from my JKU.. Melting is something i want to avoid so plan on over doing it a bit.. Just a story my thermostat in my JKU lasted 10 years my new one 1 year… not only did it stop working it fell apart in the housing! I hate to sound my age but things have changed.

LOL - you are in good company here.
Yes, things have changed, and that change is at a faster than ever pace in recent years.

I had to replace the heater control switch in my Wrangler some years back.... Luckily before the plandemic

I was thinking about that while driving my 05 Wrangler earlier today, even though it's got 256000 miles on it built to last. The main things I've had to replace is the plastic switch assembly's that have failed from use. Turn signal/ headlight switch assembly (twice) and climate control assembly.
