Adding canvas cover to a rack?

I love my half rack, but would love a bit of dust & water protection back there. Has anyone DIY'd a solution? I am thinking of talking with a local canvas tent maker to see if I can make something.

though I have a half rack..

do I use velcro along the sides? fabricate some rails with awning cable to attach to the trail rails?

Would love to hear if anyone has done something similar or know of any aftermarket options.

You’d definitely need some type of support structure inside the canvas. I wouldn’t rely on just Velcro to hold it the underside of the rack if that’s what you meant. With that half rack you’d end up with very little useable space inside the tent.

I wonder if looking through ideas for boat tops might be helpful. They are usually pretty rectangular....

Any update on this? I'm looking to do the same exact thing. When weather isnt perfect, I would like to have some cover for my dogs that travel in the back under my half rack.
