Hey, long time lurker here. I have searched for a thread to see if an AEV Procal Snap would void any of my warranties if I installed one on my 2020 Gladiator. I haven’t seen a definitive answer on it. AEV says that it doesn’t change the software in the vehicle “…The ProCal SNAP only adjusts parameters the vehicle uses in calculations. These parameters will not cause any reliability issues and can always be modified or restored to an original value.”

On other types of vehicle procal products they sell it is specifically written that it does not void warranties…so this does the Procal Snap for the Gladiator void it?

Also, AEV states that “The ProCal SNAP does not record the changes into your vehicle’s history with FCA/Jeep. Any Warranty or Recall that requires a re-programming of the modules may erase the ProCal SNAP settings and require you to use the ProCal SNAP to adjust your settings again.” What does it mean when it says that the SNAP doesn’t change vehicles history with FCA/Jeep history. Does that mean the SNAP is not ‘detected’ (leaves no trace)if I take it to the dealer still installed?

From what I have read, this Procal isn’t easily taken off if installed. So, I don’t want to put it on if there’s a huge problem with it. Anybody with any experience specifically with this product that has had warranty issues? Thanks in advance…I am new to this and sorry if I have asked pretty stupid questions!!

If it has to stay connected to function, then the dealer may consider it to be a tuner, which may lead to them not wanting to honor warranty coverage for any related repairs.

If it leaves no trail in the truck's computer, then it is safe to use, as far as the warranty is concerned. It should be removed prior to any visit to the dealer. If it is not designed for easy removal, I would be hesitant to use it.

All options on the truck are associated with the VIN number so that any flash to the computer ensures that all the Factory Options still work when are they are done servicing it. The statement from ProCal just means any changes you make are not added to the VIN and may be lost during service, meaning you will have to enter them again. If they do not specifically state it won't Void the Warranty, then I would be concerned that it leaves a visible trail In the truck's computer.

It does not void any warranty. The ProCal only does a few things like tire size, gear ratio, nothing that affects genuine tune parameters. It does not stay connected.

Other than being limited on what it can do, are there any drawbacks to the procal?
