I installed the Scorcher GT module about a month ago and I am satisfied with it. I posted this statement under towing after one week of use.
"Initial impressions were, "is it working?" as I didn't feel much difference. Drove to the nearest gas station on the way and fueled up. Decided to turn off the Scorcher to see how the Gladiator behaved and like always it was hunting gears and downshifting to third on the slightest hint of a hill, even on manual mode it would do it. Drove like that for 10-15 miles and noticed that on most hills I had to shift into 4th to keep my set speed and the occasional shift into third by itself. Stopped on the side of the road and turned on the Scorcher. Kept driving the same road which was continuation of the same up and down hill road. This time I noticed it didn't downshift by itself like it did with the module turned off. On the same type of hills I had to shift into 4th, I was able to stay on 5th and sometimes 6th. Once the road was a little flatter I would go into 7th but it would not pick up speed as the limit was 55. When I filled up the tank on the way back I got 12.5 MPG."
The module does help when you are towing and it has a little more get go. I've been driving around with it for the last three weeks (not towing) and it feels spunkier. The same hill I take to go to town which is 45 MPH, I manually shifted to 5th and it maintained speed but not gain (before the Scorcher). Now it gains speed on 5th on the same hill. I am running 35" tires.
Overall, I'm liking it as it seems to give a little more power lower in the RPM range. Where I live which is all mountains and around 7,000' or more in elevation, getting back some of the lost power due to elevation loses is greatly appreciated.
Gas mileage seems pretty close to stock. I will report back once I go on a long drive.
After the initial check engine light (my fault) plugs where backwards, I have not had any CELs.
Those of you looking for a little more power this might be a good option. AFE says it gives around 18HP boost and 17 torque. I am not an expert reading dyno graphs, but I have no reason to doubt their claim.
