Probably not a heck of a lot of difference between the 2 but before I go slapping skids under the Jeep this is something I want to do.

My expectations are:
1) Prolong the life of components.
2)Protection from impact/damage.
3) Ability to fit skid plates over these covers.

If you’ve used them or installed them let me know your thoughts. This is for a Jeep that goes off-road.

Just my 2 cents, your money will go farther sticking with PPE for everything and be just as good as anything AFE may have in this regards. PPE diff covers are also more conforming to original contours.

I have never had PPE cover, all my previous jeeps I just used solid axle industries cover.
I put AFE on my gladiator just because I didn’t really have a preference, just wanted iron and a little more capacity.
They looked great, the fill plug is still on the front but I can empty a bottle without any issue. They’ve sealed fantastic with lube lockers.

I really don’t know if there is a “bad” iron diff cover. I have no complaints.

I like both Cavfab and MotoBilt steel diff covers--they are moderately priced, very strong, and easily drilled and tapped for 1/8 npt drain plugs. I also like the PPE trans pan and use it. All three brands come with strong replacement mounting bolts.

Awesome!! Thanks for the diff cover recommendation. I’ve been looking pretty hard at Cav Fab stuff so that may be a good option.
