Always on 12 volt for flat towing - Blue Ox

Good morning. 2021 Gladiator Sport S here. We plan to flat tow with our 24' Class C RV.

We have a Blue Ox system installed and trying to figure out how to plug into our 12 volt [lighter] and not have to start the vehicle [or ACC]. Our Lighter 12 Volt doesn't work if vehicle is off. Any work arounds or a way to change the fuse to have it work while off?

Remove the Run/Accessory 2 Relay in the PDC and install a jumper wire between terminals 30 and 87a.

That'll work as well, but my recommended solution costs far less than $36.

I don't doubt that, but unfortunately, I don't see the schematics you are talking about. If it's the fuse box upper left when facing engine, my 30 and 87 fuses are spares and not sure of how. Using this other one, I doubt I'll have to listen to hubby's moaning about it. I can probably do this one myself. ;-)

I just use a jump box. No problems

We could do a jump box [assuming that's something that goes on the battery] but $36 bucks for what we're going to try seems to be a less expensive way.

Did exactly that (the video you shared), a few weeks ago...also for flat towing. 5 minute install, at most. Piece of cake...and works like a dream.
