Bought one last year during prime day.

I must have been lucky as I had none of the issues you had.

I love mine. Take the tops off much more without the sin beating down directly on you.

Well that's good to hear. Do you mind taking a picture of your rear shade from the back seat when you get a chance?

I tried everything I could think of when I was installing it, but I am convinced I was missing something with how many positive reviews those things have.

My wife and I agree, the ROAM tents are the best we've ever slept in.

This is an expensive thread.

Yeah...this is a bit bigger. I do not think the cots would it on a kayak either.

I hope you have better luck with yours than I did. I just recently bought one of these and returned it.

• Out of the box, both shades and the grab bar pouch were all covered in this oily, slimy residue. I rinsed them all off with soap and hot water, but it didn't fix it completely.
• The install wasn't bad, but the fitment was just awful. The rear shade has to be pulled so far back that it almost interferes with your rear window. If you leave it any further forward, the front edge of it bunches up on the soundbar. It's like they didn't bother to measure or cut it to the shape of the Jeep at all.
• The front shade fit ok, but I'm JUST tall enough that it constantly brushes my head while I'm driving. That's my issue though, nothing with the product.
• The worst part though was that after all the bungies were pulled taut around all the trim, I got several annoying plastic rattles/vibrations while driving, and especially with bass from music.

They look cool, but I am hoping I'll have better luck with Alien or Spiderweb in the future.

We have our own bedframes that hang off the slats inside the trailer, then join to support a queen size memory foam mattress, different flavor of tenting. For us, a nice contrast to backpacking and having minimal tents, and zero vertical clearance - standing up is nice at my age!

Here's some pictures of mine from the inside. This is my second season with it. Still nice and tight across the top.

Hooking up the side bungees was no big deal, but fishing through the bungees in the front was tough. I happened to just purchase a new watering hose when I got the shade and the hose came bundled/wrapped with giant long twister seals. I used one of them to easily fish through the front, twist it around the loop of the bungee, and pull it through. Made installing the shade a snap.

Ah! That's the difference... I had ordered a two piece set that didn't go over the sport bar like yours does. In the one I ordered, the rear section bunched up against the sport bar and never sat tightly. I think this design makes a lot more sense.

The product page even shows the poor fitment. I wish I had seen this beforehand:

I tried installing the Shadeidea front shade today and decided to return it. I just hate the way it mounts against the front windshield. It seems like it could damage some of the plastic where the bungee pulls tight against it.

The piece of paper they provide to guide the bungee thru the windshield area (instead of providing the plastic tool like other vendors) didn’t work well either.

I’m going to order the front Jtop instead now.
