Anyone else using this?

https://americanadventurelab.com/product/jeep-jl-jt-auxiliary-lighting-harness/

I've got a Rubicon with standard bulbs. Not LED.

I plugged in the harness and my DRL stopped working.

And the string of marker lights that I wired to the harness only come on when I switch to headlights.

My goal was to have some grill marker lights come on with the DRL.

Contacted AAL. Waiting to hear back.

If anyone else has experience with this harness, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Got a response. The orginal harness was for their lights. A new harness is being made to be able to work with factory lights.

Sounds to me like you spliced into the wrong wire and possibly blown the DRL fuse.

I unplugged the AAL harness and reconnected the factory plugs. The DRL works fine.

There's only three wires coming out of the harness. Red, yellow and black. Red for DRL, yellow for turn and black is ground.

During each step of wiring, I tested the lights, all the way up to the harness and it's all working as expected.

So nothing burned out or blown. Just not working as I expected.

Quadratec also has a similar harness, but there seems to be 6 wires versus the 4 that connect AAL harness plug ends.

Just wanted to add a little bit of detail. The old harness was made to be used with their lights. They are working on an updated version that will work with the factory lights. I'm guessing it'll include that additional wiring like the quadratec harness.

The solution they offered was to order the same harness and the new version that will work with the factory lighting would be shipped. And then return to them the old harness for a refund.

Always happy to be supporting these smaller independent businesses.

I figured something like this was the case. Hope you get it figured out and sorry I couldn't help further.

Update: the new harness works exactly as I had hoped. Plugs into the side harness and works with the DRL.

On a side note. On my JTR, I'm able to lay on the ground, reach from under and access the driver side harness plug. No need to mess with the fender at all.

And Thanks for American Adventure Labs for the incredible customer support!
