I've had an aftermarket set of LED headlights on my '21 JT for about a year and a half. I decided I wanted a different look so went with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRDRJCQG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I got them installed them on Saturday. Everything went fine and worked fine. I didn't drive it anywhere until Monday morning at 5:30 AM. I start it up and a few seconds after they came on, they would start to go off and on by themselves. Not always together either, sometimes one would go off but the other side on. The same for the high beams also. Anyway, I have to leave and by the time I leave the driveway, they are off and neither highs or lows do anything. I go to work with just the fog lights (which fortunately are pretty bright) leading the way. I get home about 3 PM and get out to see if they still do it. They stayed on as I let it run for a few minutes, no issues. I figure they fixed themselves. I go to leave this morning and it's the same thing as the yesterday, they're acting all goofy going off and on. Even if I hold back the high beam, it'll stay on but after a few seconds go out and just the fogs again.

So I set up an exchange and have to take them out and put the old ones back in until I get a replacement set back. I was getting ready to do the swap when I figured I'd see what happens today. I start it up, turn the lights on and it's been running about 15 minutes now and they are still on...

Anyone have any clue why they are working during the day but not in the morning/still dark out?? This makes no sense. I don't want to have to go through the exchange process so hopefully someone can give me an idea on what the issue is here.

And just to clarify, I have a Willy's sport. All manual, no auto lights.

Waited til dark to see if they were still acting up. I tried to do some reading about htis and though maybe turning off the DRL option in the settings would help. Maybe it was somehow interfering with the lights. Started it up and immediately the right one did flick of for just a second but then they both stayed on for a steady five minutes of idling. I went from high to low several times and seemed fine. Went for a ride around the block and was doing the same thing again. If highs were on, they'd shut off altogether and wouldn't come back on. Lows would sometime be just one light or none at all. Turning them off and on manually does nothing. They don't come back on. The highs will stay on for a little lit but eventually go out. Pull back in and I had just the drivers side on on low beam. I'm at a loss right now. I could take them out and return them and get another set but there's no guarantee the other set will work either.

Can't speak for this brand of lights, but I had a similar experience with a set of LED bulbs once......
Installed the bulbs and they did the exact same thing you described. To the point I thought the bulbs were defective. Before giving up, I decided to reprogram the headlights to LED with Jscan. They then worked perfectly.
Never had that issue with my 21, but sure did with the 23. Don't know if it was the brand or what, but that fixed it. If you haven't tried that yet, I'd give it a go.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I just got lucky with the previous set. They are led also but never had a problem. So, jscan downloaded, cable and compatible scanner ordered. Will get here tomorrow. Hopefully this fixes them.

I assume you changed from Halogen lights? If so, you need to tell the Jeep they now have LED's. Dealer can refresh or you can get a Taser.

He's already on it, he said he downloaded jscan.

Yep, I'll get the stuff tomorrow and hope it's the solution. The originals are halogens and I have heard of having to tell the Jeep that they are LEDs. What I still don't get though is the ones I replaced are LEDs and I never had to do anything like that. They worked fine every day for a year and a half.

So got the cable and figured out how to get it all the Jscan stuff working and enabled all the LED lighting. Went for a five mile ride and the lights stayed on the entire time. Thanks for the help guys.
