Most likely rodent damage but could have been someone who's not familiar with Jeep Latches trying to pry them off with a screw driver.

So I was waxing my Jeep today and discovered that my hood latches were trashed. Everything else surrounding the hood and front fender flares flawless. Any ideas? Pics attached showing the condition of the latches.
