Any ideas what this is ?

I received my floor mats today and the driver side does not sit flush and won’t connect well with the button on the floor board. It’s a raised rubber piece on the underside

Well 15 seconds after I posted this I watched a YouTube video and realized it’s a drain plug disregard my previous comments and feel free to bash me for not searching first.

Directions should have been included... Tells u how to install by removing the oval carpet piece, the drain plug, and then how to reinstall. See if there are still in

Looks like Jeep would have sent a plug with the floor mats to plug that hole with for the people who don’t want to cut out the hole in the carpet

Yeah seems like it should have come with instructions. It was an easy removal. Just pull back on the drain plug on the floor after removing the small bit of carpet. After u push the undersurface of the mat into the drain plug u replace the plug on the surface where you’d put your feet.

Neat idea but I've heard and seen plenty of reports of these allowing water between the mat and floorboard, even with the newest revision.

I'm not playing with another leak potential so I ordered extra plugs and cut off the "funnel" so they sit flat. No leaks to worry about and taking them out to clean is not exactly hard. If you insist on using that feature, I highly recommend using something to seal the joint properly. There are instructions and videos to help, if needed.

If it makes you feel any better the same thing happened to me... took me a few seconds to realize that there were cutouts in the carpet!
