Having raced dirt bike for over 40 years got hooked on mountain biking. I live in northern Arizona and have some of the best mountain biking in the world within 1 hour of my house.

I had a horrible 5K race on Saturday. Hadn't trained for it and signed up on the fly since it was only a mile from my house. I thought I was gonna black out on the last mile. Had to walk 3 times but I still ended up with a PR surprisingly. I gotta hit the track and knock 44 seconds off my time to finally get under 20 minutes. It's gonna happen this year. It's crazy the older I'm getting the faster I'm getting.

7th overall out of 255 and 1st in my age group 45-49!

Poor nutrition and I'm 2 weeks off of Caffeine which probably didn't help. Plus I went out to hot on the first mile and I didn't eat anything before the race just hydrated. Forgot to eat my gel as well so all of that probably played a factor. I looked like I was dying coming across the finish line.
