Any longer term thoughts on the top? Is the wind/highway noise any worse than the hardtop? Leaks? Folding it all in the middle a reasonable possibility?

I really just need to pull the trigger on this, but the weather has really been crappy the last couple weeks, not very inspiring to think about topless driving.

The wind has been crazy annoying here, I havent driven my gladiator much in the last couple weeks.

There is way more wind noise than the hard top. I only hear it when my wife or kids are in and the radio is lower. It doesn’t really bother me for the convenience during the summer. Have head very heavy rain and snow since I put it on and no leaks. I took it through the car wash to test it and it did leak on both sides above the front door handles, but even that wasn’t too bad. I haven’t gotten to experiment with folding up the back half yet, or even taking off the back window. Will probably just do the window today to get a good feel for it, and will try the rest of the top in the coming weeks.
If the wind noise with the hard top bothers you to a point where you don’t drive it, I would probably suggest passing on this.

Has anyone driven this through a car wash. More specifically a touchless one where the jetted water hits the car sideways. I only ask cause I had an old convertible BMW and I tried driving through one of those and the water came in pretty hard through the gaps.

right in the post above I said mine leaked in a car wash. It wasn’t a touch less, but it came in in a spot where the water jets showed sideways like that. One little spot on each side. I was thinking about finding a way to fix it, but I don’t plan on going through any more car washes with it. I didn’t like how much pressure the dryers put on it.

What was your process for putting the back window in and I'm guessing that the bottom is just held by the tension in the plastic because there is not a slot like on the corners for the plastic to slip into.
here you can see the plastic strip on the bottom of the back window going into this channel.
For the first time doing it, it took maybe five minutes to take out the window and pillars out, and take some pictures, and decide what I was doing with the window while it was off.
I was going to leave it strapped and just store it in between the top layers, but then I decided to take it all the way out, and put the window and pillars in the bag that came with it, and just leave it in the bed. Will take another pic later with the front open and back off.

I went out and looked at mine, I don't have the gap you do. That top plate seems to have been welded a little forward of yours and I really only have a ridge, and not enough room for the plastic to slide into. I will try and get a picture.

One more with the top open.
Took a little longer to put back on than take off, but still only took 12 minutes. Next time I’ll fold the back up over the center too.

Appreciate all the reviews on here. Just got mine on this past weekend, will post a review soon, but wondering if anyone else has issues with a pretty big gap at the top of the doors by the header? Getting a lot of wind noise whistling through there on both sides. Latches are adjusted as tight as they'll go.

Back window bottom strip not sliding in. Strip seems to be too thick. Does anyone have this issue?
Mine is that the plate is weld closer than other Jeep's I've seen and it won't slide far enough in to not slip out

I don’t think I have a gap like that, but I’ll get a pic later after work. I do have some wind noise from that area though, I was talking to someone on Facebook about it and he put a foam or rubber strip i think on the back side of the bracket. I am waiting to hear if it helped with the wind noise and water leak from the car wash.

I guess mine looks the same. I don’t really have a problem with whistling, but I do get wind noise. It only bothers me when the wife and/or kids are in and I have the radio turned down.

I just ordered mine yesterday- but now I am kind of regretting it. I don't want a big lump on the front of the roof. I will install mine sometime next week when it arrives and post some pictures.

Yeah I tried a rubber strip, does help a little. My wife and kids haven't been in it yet but already know I'm gonna hear about the noise when they are...
