First of all - hello everyone. Been lurking here awhile and preparing to pull the trigger on my first Jeep. More than likely will be a Mojave X. It'll be my daily, making a 40 minute work commute in the St Louis area. After driving one, I was really impressed with the comfort level it provided on the highway. We don't do Jeep things here at home (yet) but we visit the west coast at least 2 times a year and one of my favorite things about our trips has always been renting the Jeep and having some fun on trails or gnarly Forest Service roads. I always loved the Jeep in a limited vacation time span but never really saw myself driving one as my daily or owning one. Well.. I guess I've just come around now with the Mojave. I've driven about every other trim of Wrangler and a few Gladiators and the Mojave is the one I can see myself driving full time.

That said... I've been to a few dealers near me and really haven't been given any straight or consistent answers as to if what I'm looking for can or can't be ordered now or sometime in the future. I can appreciate it's still early for ordering 2027's so if I just need to sit tight I'm okay with that. Or I can go buy something I can get today if I get too impatient. I'm not really in a huge rush, but I'm driving a 22 RAM Limited that is the textbook definition of a "poor quality COVID era vehicle" and is now out of warranty so the sooner I can get into my new Gladdy, the better.

Below is what I'm looking to order:
  • Mojave X trim - could possibly go non-X but the Selec-Trac would be nice for Midwest weather. If I went non-X I'd probably add everything else anyways. I'm not *totally* against a Rubicon, but the Mojave ride on the highway had me kind of sold on it. I don't think I'll need the extra goodies the Rubicon provides, and if I do decide one day I do, we'll worry about it then.
  • Earl Color - Other than driving the Mojave, this is the thing that made me say 'ok, it's time' and seriously start looking into purchasing. If I had to go a different route, I'd probably say Anvil or '41. My only hesitation is what the greenish tinted leather looks like against Earl or Anvil. I think it looks great with '41.
  • Special edition packages - These are totally optional for me, but I do love the different interiors of the Sarge and Rockslide. Also thought the Rockslide would look nice with the Anvil accents against Earl. Laredo has a nice interior too but looked like that was just for the Wrangler. Anyways, these are nowhere near necessary. I've had *one* dealer rep say that he could get me the Rockslide in a Rubicon (non-X), but every other rep has pretty much laughed at me for even asking.
Would appreciate it if anyone had any experiences, whether successes or similar to mine around trying to order something similar. I've done a ton of searching and can't seem to find a lot of detail around the configuration i'm looking at. May just be wasting my breath asking, but given I've had such lackluster dealer experiences I figured it couldn't hurt to toss this post out there. I did see that there were some successful Earl orders out there, but most were either on the Wrangler forum or they only worked on different Gladiator trims like the Rubicon non-X.

Thanks in advance and regardless of what I wind up purchasing, excited to get into ownership and start my first build even if it's pretty tame by most standards :)

No experience in ordering a Jeep but want to wish you luck on the endeavor. Hope you can find what you’re after. There are a few resources in here that may be able to help you find or order what you’re after. I’m sure someone will chime in specifically as there is a lot of experience here.

Welcome!

On the current 2026 lineup, its not showing Earl as available anymore.
That being said, you can always inquire with the dealer. They originally made it as a special choice for 2023 Overland (High Altitude) and then into the full 2024 lineup before they discontinued it.

For the 2027 models, I would wait until they release it fully, sometime around September. Whatever we glean before then might be nothing but rumor.

Getting something like a Mojave X Laredo, for example, would be like asking for a Willys Rubicon. You're mixing your trims. That being said, you can always order what is missing off one onto another, within certain boundaries.

And besides, an Anvil Mojave X is bestest choice, of course.

However, I might be biased.

Allow a suggestion.. Use www.jeep.com to search and build; at this time it most likely only shows 2026 years. Should hit something you would consider then use the search dealer inventory for that Mojave at a dealership. The factory has stopped the 2026 model year ordering and are moving into 2027 model year builds.

Definitely been using the build page for monitoring colors and searching for something close to what I want. I have found it almost necessary to do that when looking for the Mojave X. Seems a lot of dealers don't actually mark that as a "trim" and more of a package. I find a lot of the X's listed on dealer sites near me as non-X and then if you look at the actual vehicle page you can see the 4 High Auto on the shifters / dash and the X detail in the window sticker.

27's are not being built nor available to order at this time.

Job one MY27 is 08/24

This right here clears a lot of things up. I've been told everything so far from "sure we can order you a 2026 in Earl, just not what you want" to "Sure 2027's are ready to order!"

Looks like I just need to hang in there a bit longer.

Also because I just have to laugh at the irony, apparently my junk heap truck heard me talking about replacing it. Decided to act out today and send me out shopping for a new battery. At least I won't have to worry about the original crapping out before I get my Mojave 😂:headbang:

If you’re going to be trading in soon look for an Interstate dealer. An actual Interstate Battery shop. Call em and ask about a “blem” battery in your size. It’ll save you a load of cash on a battery you may be trading in soon.

Didn't know that was a thing. I'll check it out.

Had it charged and tested this evening. It tested good but seemed to take a really long time to charge. Put it back in an hour or so ago and it chugged along fine while the alternator was running. Have to see how it does in the morning. May have been a fluke, but it's a 22 on the original battery so I wouldn't be shocked if it's just toast.

And of course, Dirt Road Cred on Youtube just released a video stating that the 27 Gladiator Order Guide has been released.

Of course.

How dare you manipulate the threads of consensual reality into what you needed? The backlash alone...
