I have the standard Overland wheels on my JT which are dark gray with the silver edges. I got to thinking that they could look and match better if they were all silver like the edges are.

There are several OEM wheels with that sort of paint design, have any of y’all removed the paint entirely and ran with that? How did it turn out?

I stripped the clear coat off a set of wheels for my '99 Trans-Am with Acetone, because the clear coat became cloudy as it aged.
I was then able to polish the aluminum to a super high shine. If you don't keep up on the polishing, salt and other elements can/will corrode them pretty quick.
You'll certainly want to protect them with some sort of clear finish.
