Depends who you ask
Yeah I looked at wheel pros too your right Nothing there looks as good to me. Might just run cheaper wheels without the rash ring and plan on having them refinished every couple years.

I’d get them while the getting’s good and replace ring pieces as necessary. They’re so good.

There is nothing that compares to the Teraflex with the rapid defeaters and cheap replacement rash rings

How well do the rings hold up to the abuse?. Also do you know if the deflators can be plugged if they should fail? I think that's my biggest worry is the deflators. I love the idea but if they are discontinued and can't get parts now what?

I don’t see how they’d fail unless they were hit REALLY hard, and where they are protects them rather well. Either way, they’re removable completely and could be replaced with a plug. That’s how the older base nomads could be bought if someone wanted them without deflators. The rash rings are supposed to be sacrificial. I’ve done some pretty hard wheeling with them over four trips and have only replaced two total pieces. I had 12 spare pieces originally, and have used two. Long term, I’m not that worried, as teraflex is so great with customer service.

I will say though that I just future-proofed myself. I just in the last few minutes ordered one wheel, 2 six piece ring kits, and a couple valves. For the $500 I spent, and the fact that I already had a set of 5, I should be good for the life of the Jeep. I like them that much, that I wanted to not have a problem years in the future. I figure wheel designs come and go, but these are a step above anything else I’ve ever seen. And they use the same bead grip idea that method does, and they were my other choice before I decided.

Mine took a pounding on the rubicon, but we ran it both ways so they held up good in that regard.

Now that's a ringing endorsement. If you don't mind could you share where you got the extra rings? Couple places are sold out already. Gonna be an expensive weekend between Metalcloak and wheels.

Northridge had the 6 packs of the ring pieces in stock. I also ordered the wheel and valves. The wheel said 2 days to ship, but I know that’s because it’ll likely ship directly from teraflex. The wheels are just so good. I couldn’t be happier with the decision, and I can’t say that about all parts I’ve bought.

They sell plugs. I bought two spare plugs when I bought my wheels just in case the deflators failed.

Thanks for letting us know about the wheels being discontinued. It is hard to believe as I really love my Nomads. Usually a month after you decide on a wheel, you see another set you like better. I would 100 percent buy the Nomads again and still haven’t seen a wheel I like more. With the news of them being discontinued, I did buy a couple of rash rings and a spare deflator.

I completely agree. Nothing else in the non-beadlock arena comes close in my opinion. I’m hoping I have enough ring pieces for the long haul. I added a couple shrader housings and plugs to my insurance plan as well.

My understanding is Teraflex was bought by some conglomerate or something. The Nomads are discontinued not sure about the beadlocks.

Wheelpros has owned them since last year. All teraflex wheels are being discontinued due to perceived redundancy.
