I like that too but, the grill (not the traditional 7 slot but reminiscent of those Jeeps built by Ford in WW II...the Kaiser built ones had the 7 slot grill) seems to me to not let enough air across the radiator for proper cooling...
Introduced in 1962 for the 1963 model year, the original Jeep Gladiator shared the same front-end styling as the Jeep Wagoneer.

Configurations for the Jeep Gladiator included: “Thriftside (narrow box), Townside (wide box), Chassis or Cab; Stake Bed; Wrecker; and Chassis-mounted campers with extended wheelbases,” according to the Jeep brand historical site.

The Gladiator name stuck around until 1971. The line of trucks was referred to as the J-Series through 1987, when Jeep brand pickups were taken out of production.

I’d have likely done the same if I still lived in FL. and I’m in the dog house already with my wife and kids regarding the lack of steps.
Feel you. Happy Wife.... Happy Life. I wanted to get the manual, but bowed to the wife. She essentially let me build/order the way I wanted.... No budget.:)

Well that I’m positive about. There’d be no way to do it without altering the wheelbase or having a ridiculous amount of wasted space in an extended cab. It’s just physics. There are some really good videos out there with Jeep engineers talking about the design of the gladiator and one in particular goes into talking about how that extra space back there is one of the biggest ways they achieved the JT weight distribution being close to the JL.
Interesting.
Now that you mention it, what is the weight distribution on a stock JT?
I don’t recall.

I said in another post, I can’t remember definitively, but the number that sticks out is 55/45. It’s close to that if not exact.

Kind of want that one. But I'd be happier hacking one 12" section off the end of the bed on mine. The departure angle is kill'n me on the trails.

Yes, I've been holding off buying the JT in hopes that Jeep would offer a regular cab or extended cab version with a minimum 6' bed. I cannot get past the disproportionate look of the crew cab JT and the bed length is just too short for what I'd use it for. I do not need my truck to transport more than two people so the rear seats in the current JT crew cab configuration are useless for me. I value the bed space much more than the rear seating space.

My wife is 5'3" and she gets in and out no problem because the Ace sliders have a nice footing wherever you want to step.

I’ve seen those, and they do look nice. I’m a little worried that since the steps would be for shorter people and kids, that they wouldn’t be low enough. If they just stick out further, it might not help enough to justify 1300. It’s nice that they allow the rubicon rails to stay. Really nice.

Of all of the rock rail/sliders that I have seen these are totally my favorite. As far as I can tell there isn’t a Canadian distributor so one day I’ll call and look into their willingness to ship up here.
On an unrelated note.....why do these sliders only cause cancer to California residents?? ?

I’m from CA and I’ve never understood these warnings. The only way you’d get cancer from these sliders is if you decide to eat them?

I’d love to have one as depicted in the drawing! Being a little over 6’ tall, I don’t care for any single cab truck, but I’d go for an extended cab.
I do like the dual cab for my pups to ride back there tho.I removed the back seat in my JKU and made filler plates for the foot wells. Gave them a nice large space to be comfy

A 2 door extended cab is my dream JT. It should have been an option since day 1. My back seat have yet to have an ass in them.
