Are these CBs worth resurrecting?

My knee panel ( Duramax)in front of the center console is steel underneath the plastic. I had my old Dixie CB mounted there. I never even thought about interference.

When I was spinning wrenches for a living. Came across a few vehicles with the issue. Key the mike and the vehicle would die. Some customers description of the problem would leave you scratching your head.
