it has to be spliced in. It’s not hard at all IF you’ve done wire splicing before. I just peeled back some insulation and wrapped the new wire around the target wire and added a drop of solder to hold it on.
I can splice, I’m assuming the instructions tell ya what and where? Or do I need to do some searching?

On a JL you will find a twisted par in the factory loom and a twisted par in the RPM loom That's easy.
The black ground is also easy. it is the lager black green in the factory loom.
The tan white factory to brown RPM loom is the hardest to find and get to.
The brown vilot factory the only one you cut go directly from the computer plug to the fan motor and you can use an Ohm meter to find that one by unplugging the fan and hooking the Ohm meter to the small wire in the plug.

for your 23 you'd just need to verify wire locations at the connector. Mine were in different spots than what the instructions were saying.

Splicing is not difficult, but I'm not going to hack up the factory wiring on a brand new truck. I'm not interested if it is going to affect the warranty.

To each their own. I’m not worried about affecting warranty. I’m almost out of it anyway :)
