Thanks for the tips y’all! My armorlite and sound assassin sheeting for beneath it came in today.
So my question is “what do you wish you had done before installing these ?” (also any installation tips you have would be appreciated)
Is there extra wiring I should do before I put the armorlite in?
What about other mods that are best done before ?
It was a long project. I figure on the outside it would take me maybe 4 hours or so.
I started working at 2pm got a little ways in, realized I needed a Torx socket and not a Torx driver :/ after a trip to Lowe’s, Home Depot and finally autozone I thought I had my materials right. I was wrong !
I had some issues with the clips for the seats, and also reaching the inboard bolt for each seat and had to go back for a longer narrower torx socket.
after that the sound assassin sheets were pretty easy to work with, just make sure that you cut out holes for all mounting spaces and drain holes !
Armorlite was a pain to get in, I’m not super confident with trim but once removed the b pillar and loosened the front And rear trim it wasn’t too bad.
overall I’m glad the project is done, it was the first major mod I’ve made on my JT and it took me at least ten hours of work (including the extra trips to the store) to get it completed.
The Armorlite looks great! I probably won’t get to really hear any difference in noise till I’m on my way to work tomorrow !
