ATP Rock Rail / Side Step Long Term use

Unfortunately these rails have not held up well against the little use that have received. I don't daily my Jeep. It is a 2020 with 24,000 miles. It does stay outside and I do live in a state that loves to salt the roads. However with very little use and not trail driving I would have expected he powder coat to last longer. Seems the oxidation from within is really taking over. Likely will remove, grid away the rust and have them bed lined. I paid what I felt was a premium for rails that would do this in a few years, guess not.

I would expect that from a chinese brand, never heard of these so I don't know where they came from. Have them re powder coated. They will blast them clean and re coat and you should be good to go.

I had the same problem with my DV8 rock sliders I like your idea of grinding and bed liner. Maybe spray with rust prevention before as well.

OK, so the grinding with my drill and abrasive material worked but was taking way longer than I thought. They were a little worse than I realized. Got several quotes from powder coaters and ended up going that route. They stripped it back down to bare metal and applied a new coat of textured black. Total cost was $225. I felt that was acceptable. If this doesn't last then I'll look to go the bed liner route next time.
