Airing down saves the engine, transmission from overheating or putting unwanted stress on the struts and suspension plus you are ruining the beach by digging more ruts in the sand with hard tires and creating those annoying choppy bumps.

33s' are fine, compressor is a good idea if the beaches don't provide them, also adding rust preventive on the bottom is a great idea I use 303 rust prevention, works great isn't as greasy as others. Traction boards are IMO all you need in most situations to get unstuck if you sink it in the sand. (never go uphill, never go down hill unless your moving fast), a platform for the jack you use, the jack will sink in the sand if you have a flat. I think that's a good start

Looks great, depending on how much of a beach runner you need, I would not go very wide or big for beach travel, I'm running factory 33 Falkens, and will go to the next size taller (true 33")but narrower tire when I talk my wife into it or wear them out . Beach tires are best with not aggressive tread, rounded shoulders, and not too wide people think wide helps float , but you also are pushing a little wall of sand in front of you as you drive, and when airing down the foot print gets a little wider but also much longer. I like the Falkens for all around use, and is what I am thinking about going to in the narrower taller tire........Jack

Also in your picture that beach sand looks pretty hard and flat, nothing like I'm use to in Delaware, Hatteras and few other places....Jack

Finally got the truck out on the beach today! Recently added a 1.5" leveling kit, Mojave takeoffs, and a Lomax trifold cover. Waiting on my Armorlite flooring to arrive.

How do you like the Lomax cover? I have one as well and you don’t see too many of them. Very low profile, easy to fold, and remove. Little weighty at times…

I love mine. Glad to hear from another owner.

I don't understand why the Lomax isn't more popular. When I compare it to photos of other covers + what I see on other trucks around town, the overall look of the Lomax is much better. I also haven't had a single leak despite a lot of torrential downpours during the Florida summer. And I didn't have to do any fiddling with seals, or adding weatherstripping, etc. as I see folks talk about with some other brands.

Maybe it's a bit heavy, but I'm far from being a big/strong person, and it has been no issue for me to lift off/put on when required.

Yeah, not extremely heavy, but slightly more than fiber ones. I can echo leaks are non-existent.
