Is there any resource to check what gauge steel is used for the bed?

Thin as fuck comes to mind.

Guess I could grab my feeler gauges and figure it out.

What are you trying to do that would bring that information into play?

Adding a nutsurt. The tool I have has an index that gives you an idea when the nutsert is fully set so you don’t over tighten it. I’ve done it by feel before. No big deal.

I need a better nutsert kit. I've reverted to just bolt and nutting everything again

I’m installing an M12. I tried it with one of those bolt cutter types but it didn’t work. I got a rachet type that has a better mechanical advantage. I tried a test with the M12 and it went better.

How did you project turn out?

I'd like to use some stainless steel riv nuts to fasten some 4' sections of Al L Track in the groves of the JT bed, fore to aft. The 4' US Cargo L Track pieces I have, each have 10 fastener holes per track section.

I'm wondering if I should reinforce the underside of the bed or get wider expanding riv nuts (Plus Nuts from Riv Nut USA). The heaviest thing I will be lashing down is a 42" spare on forged 17" wheel, and a 100 lb dirt bike.

Thank you for your help.

It’s part of the installation of my Molle panel. Not really a major load but I’ve seen ARB compressors attached to it.
