This my first post so i pologize if i missed a thread about it. I did see a RTT vs ground tent discussion, but does anybody have a bed tent, and if so pros and cons please. I just traded my power wagon in on a mojave and love it. I do not want to a rack and a RTT if i can avoid it, and at 51 I would prefer the ground tent days to be behind me solely for the purpose of being able to move the next day.

I have a Gazelle T4 and a cot cause I can't do the sleeping on the ground at 60 (LOL). I believe if you look on Quadratec there is bed tent that looks pretty interesting. I usually have my kayak and other gear back there so bed tent wouldn't work for me

My wife and I choose a bed tent, air bedz and annex tent for our gladiator. We found it easy to setup and take down but needs 2 people to do this. It can take a bit of time as well 1/2 hour to 50 minutes. Extremely comfortable for 2 people. We found that if you are going to be traveling (overlanding, trail riding) everyday putting it up and taking it down it's very inconvenient. Setting it up and leaving it up for a couple days etc... it works great. A big con... once it is up you cannot drive to the store to pick something up that you forgot. We have opted to go with a trailer since we have turned into overlanders.

That's a great looking set up. How has the rooftop cargo rack been? I have been told to not use them due to cracking the tops

Not an issue at all. I went with the Mopar rack and rails since it is made for the hardtops. The basket was given to me so I don't know the brand.

Currently using the Napier Backroadz tent (see photos below), but planning to move to the setup Glad Jeeper has with the Sportz + Sportz link soon:

One thing with the Sportz combo, is that you can run just the bed tent, or the bed tent plus the ground portion (sportz link). The sportz by itself also has an awning if its not being used with the link.

Fantastic, thank you. I was curious if you can utilize One without the other. At 6’2 I need the tailgate down to stretch out

Set up to me is easier than a ground tent and much cleaner.
My ground tents would always be full of sand in short order.
FWIW I am 6'-5" and just fit in ours.

Yep, the sportz and backroadz are designed to work with the tailgate down. I'm going to be using an airbedz moving forward but I had a queen memory foam bed topper I was using previously and with the tailgate down it fit perfectly length wise.
