Installed these today. The install wasn’t too difficult and the over all look is simple but functional. Makes the wife happy to have a step too.

How do they mount up?
They use the factory mounting locations for the rubirails. They definitely seem sturdy and solid, providing decent body protection. I’ll post some pictures of the mounting as well.

I am having a far different experience with mine. I'm glad you started this thread; perfect timing. Mine seem plenty sturdy but they look way weird. They seem kind of justified towards the front and they also angle inward. I've been working with the manufacturer but they basically suggested an adjustment which isn't possible (unless I'm missing it). The rails mount flush with the pinch seam with no real option to adjust the distance between seam and rail location. In my opinion its the weird bump out towards the back of the rail causing the angle.

You guys aren't having this? I really am trying to avoid returning because they are heavy.

Hmm… I can imagine some differences between vehicles but that does seem a bit drastic.

When I installed mine I tightened the bolts that go through the pinch seam first, leaving the others as loose as possible. I then tightened the bolts that attach the steps to the mounting brackets. Lastly tightening the bolts that attach directly to the underside of the body. Luckily they both came out pretty even and I do not seem to have the amount of kick out that you are experiencing.

I have a couple questions to pose:

1) do you have any damage to the underside of your Jeep? By the looks of it your Jeep looks very clean and probably no damage would be found.
2) were the steps damaged? Mine came with some minor cosmetic damage but nothing that affected the mounting.
3) there were 3 lengths of bolts in the bag, the longest go into the body, the shortest bolt the steps to the mounts, and the middle sized go through the pinch seam. Maybe double check the placement of the bolts? I’m not sure if that would change the mounting location or not.

Out side of these three scenarios and the tightening order of the bolts, I am not sure what would be causing this.

I installed mine in a similar way. I mean its really not possible to have any gap between the pinch seam and the step once the bolts are tight. Definitely no damage to the Jeep or the steps (that I can see at least). I've tried basically every combo at this point. The manufacturer suggested to mount the driver's side so maybe I'll do that and see if its different. I appreciate the insights!
