Maybe the unit is defective, maybe it can't get a good enough signal to boost, or maybe there is a damaged cable. Try as much separation as possible, with the cables shipped, just to see if you can get it to work. Talk to the Support people about how to test and verify that it actually functions. Tell them you suspect that it is defective.
I tried the drive reach that was in my company truck and got the same results. I used a NanoVNA to analyze the coax and external antenna and everything appears good there. I need to find another interior antenna to test that one as the company booster had a different connection so I couldn't try it on my personal booster. Both units with their respective interior antennas, however, did nothing to improve cell signal. I used 2 different devices during testing just to rule out that my phone wasn't the issue.

Keep pushing. I once bought a CB. after install and wiring everything up I couldn't get the antenna to tune. nothing I did improved the SWR. I finally removed the CB's cover to see if there was anything obviously physically wrong.

Antenna connector had never been soldered to the board....

Here is where I put my interior antenna in order to get the booster to work. Booster is finally boosting.
