Broken Screen?

Has anyone had this happen. Radio works fine but the screen I guess just lost 1/3 of it's pixels.

Weird, as the jeep warmed up, it went completely back to normal. I'm letting it sit for a couple hours and will check. I'm glad I got a picture of it.

thats wild looking...never had that happen. there is a laundry list of issues reported with the radios, some related to cold weather. So it may be normal. Good thing you got a picture though, your dealer will need it to make it a warranty claim for a new one.

Also, there is supposed to be an update of some kind for the radios early 2021...not sure what that entails. May fix your issue as well as some of the other screen issues that happen when using apple/android carplay.

I know that electrical problems show up more in the cold. I will be going to the dealer this week and document the picture at least. I am still 16,000 miles away from being out of warranty, so less than a year for me. I will check to see if it has the update but it doesn't look like software I think. I don't know for sure.

Going to the dealer for other issues and maintenance. The radio is acting normal since that day as far as the screen. Really weird

I am at the dealer now. They are over an hour from my home. He told me when I made the appointment that it would take all day. I'm having the aux battery, garage door opener never worked and steering checked. He said I would make this appointment so they could give me a car. When I checked in, he said "so, your going to wait?" What the hell? They have no car available and the whole town has the flu. I guess I'm waiting and working from dealership.

Well, they ordered a new radio. It’s nice that are being proactive and I’m glad I took a picture. They ordered a steering box and replaced the aux battery. They are waiting for Jeep to call them back about the garage door opener. All in all I think they are being helpful. Better than my local dealer for sure.

Just happened to my 2023 today.
also progressively went black. Has NOT returned to normal

For those out of warranty, I wouldn’t waste the money replacing with a factory unit. Aftermarket units are available for a much better price and hopefully better reliability.
