Yes, but some out there seem to believe GG prevents chips and/or cracks.

The most extreme was in my 2006 LJ. Turned on the defrost and my windshield literally detonated and was 100% spider cracked. I replaced probably 10-12 windshield between YJ. TJ, LJ,JK and JT. Its a "J" thing regardless of the type of glass.
