So my windshield got broke by a rock. I contacted my insurance and have a $750 deductible. I had my windshield replaced day before yesterday and paid out of my own pocket, $658 for a Mopar glass with safety sensors. Today it got hit with another rock complete with big cracks!!??. So my question is can I get after market glass without the sensor, or will my dash light up with faults? What are the rest of you unfortunate rock magnets doing?

You are going to get faults with a standard front windshield unless you turn off the ACC.

Unfortunately, that is the cost of doing business having the Adaptive Cruise Control package.

The glass doesn't have sensors! The glass is just glass. There shouldn't be a huge cost difference since the glass has no sensors in it - they are in that box up by the mirror attached to the "frame".
If you got that glass for that price, you dun good. I doubt the other glass would be cheaper because like I said - there are NO SENSORS in the glass. It's just glass. Granted it has the area the sensors "see through" but it's glass.

I got additional windshield insurance that a $50 deductible for repair or replace. I live in CO and they drop gravel all winter long on the roads. Broken windshields are a fact of life for jeep owners here in CO.

Bill, there are two little black discs the size of a pencil eraser on top edge of the windshield on the left of that box. What are they? I thot those were the sensors. Do you know anything about Gorilla glass?
