While the last digits of the VIN are sequential, they do not in themselves represent how many were built before yours. The last six digits of a jeep vin are the vehicle's Sequential Serial Number (SSN). They are unique to the jeep in combination with the year built (N is 2022 in the VIN). they don’t keep going forever from 1 on up . They restart. within the VIN number are letters that correspond to year built, etc. so you won’t see a 2 million etc sequence number. My sequence number for my 2022 is 138078.
Attached is VIN code guide for jeeps 2021
That is correct, and perhaps I misspoken a little, but you are right - VINs are assigned before each vehicle is built, and the completion of each build may happen out of order. My understanding is that the VIN is not assigned according to the actual sequence these are built. Back when we entered our VIN it came back with the sequence number. I don't remember if this included or excluded pre production vehicles.
