So, I'm an experienced crawler but I needed to build something a bit more family friendly.
I'm wrapping up a JT on Tons & 40s build, but keeping the bed stock length for storage. Next time we go out for trips to Moab/Rubicon/CO/etc I'm concerned about how difficult the overhang/departure angle will be on the trails. I'm curious from any of you JT owners how it's been on those styles of trails and if you can "make it work" or if it's horrific and you feel it's necessary to bob the bed or destroy it in the process.

There's no need to bob the bed. The departure angle isn't a real limiting point on the Gladiator as much the breakover angle is. Make sure you add skids to the frame-side rear control arm mounts.

Thank you for sharing the video. On the stuff we'll do, it'll do just fine it looks like. I've already got good sliders, but it looks like I should get a full skid under the bottom before we head out to the harder stuff.
