Something different in a world where negative reviews are posted 10:1 to positive. Figured we could support a business who does things a little different.

Off-road Elements in MA

They will be doing my regear in my truck including providing the parts. Numerous emails back and forth as well as phone calls with the owners (Eric and Jill) starting a few months ago. All free advice and happy to talk it over till you get it right, even if it ends up being somewhere else.

Also sent me this rare these days, hand written card in the mail. I get plenty of generic commercial printed ones, but this was different. For a shop that is booking 8+ weeks out, they don’t need the business, yet they still do the small things.

So, which company has done right by you so we can reach out and possibly give them our business?

note* this isn’t anything against our forum sponsors. I’ve dealt with a handful of them and they are all as responsive and helpful as ever.

Nice Touch...Yes, seems nowadays many businesses treat you as if they are doing you a favor by dealing with you. I work for an federal organization that was the first to receive the Malcomb Baldrige Award (of thousands of applicants since the 1980's we were the @79th to receive the award). The foundation of a good organization is your values...and if you live your values...you will soon discover...IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CUSTOMER!

Unfortunately it can work both ways sometimes. As we have read even on this very forum, some customers can be a nightmare.

I either:
A: posted this in the wrong place
Or
B: there aren’t a lot of businesses going above and beyond.

Glad to hear about them (OFF Road Elements). I saw them when I was looking for a shop to install a new LSD. They were a bit further for me.

Ocean State Off Road in West Warwick RI
I found a great reputable shop here in RI . They answered all my questions and delivered my Jeep back with a quality rear LSD install. No issues and nice and quiet.. They delivered before they said it would be done; of course they sandbagged a bit and said 3 days to cover themselves. They delivered in one day, which is what it should have taken. They are damn busy though. It took me 2 months to get into the shop.

Lincoln Pest Control in RI
Not sure if I should put this non Jeep Co. in here but. I received a personally written thank you from the owner of a local pest control company I used over the summer thanking me for the business. That threw me for a loop. Also, they were able to get rid of the murder hornets in one treatment that the big franchise company couldn't.

This is good stuff to hear. Even the pest one is a nice touch.

What did the LSD set you back? I may consider that during the gear work.

The LSD was $1.2k. Broken down it was $525 or so for the True Trac, $500 flat rate for the install , and $100 change for the bearing/shim parts. I believe they have now upped their rate for a install from $500 to $750. Ouch.

Great info and something I’ll look into. It’s getting gear work done anyway and is between this, rear locker, or neither. Appreciate the info.

My own business has changed greatly since I became a customer of this company. Highly recommend! No complaints so far.
Completely agree with you about the ratio positive to negative posts/reviews. That is obvious on the 1 hand and still very interesting on the other. I mean is it in our nature to be negative or am I much too subjective about that?

@Jeffris i think there is something to the psychology of that. For some unknown reason people just expect good yet are vocal about anything outside that. It’s not a bad thing, but i feel good should be recognized as well. If I have above and beyond service at a restaurant I tend to ask for a manager. I want to speak to them so they personally know they have a quality staff member on the team.
