Caliper Covers vs. Paint - Yea or Nay?

IMO caliper covers are the lamest thing to add to your vehicle, same with painting your calipers red, might as well put a type r badge on it.

Or, better yet, paint the testicles. Bright red. Or blue, for that matter.

All kidding aside, I was thinking about a ceramic paint (durability/easy cleaning) or a cover for the brake dust benefits. Plus, with 33x12.5s on 20s, I think black, red, or white would look nice.

On the paint issue, I don't have a lift for the capability of doing all four at once.

And what's wrong with the JT's stock brakes? Granted, larger diameter tires make the brakes work harder and can increase stopping distances, but the brakes are otherwise great.

Never saw the need to "show off" brakes. They are utility- a necessary part. May as well powder coat the transmission and stripe the drive shafts.
Maybe I'll paint the front receiver orange.

I figured if I was upside down in a ditch, that might be better than dirt black

Are you tracking your JT?
Are you experiencing brake fade?
No? Then a BBK won’t do a darn thing.

With 35” tires, I can lock up my brakes.

You want to stop shorter? Look to a different tire.

Summer tires of the same size will stop sooner than an all-season on a dry road at cool to warm temps.

An all season will stop shorter in 20degree temps than a summer tire.

Other examples are out there.

Bottom line, my JT will stop as quick as your’s with HUGE 6-piston jobbers that set you back $10k.
