Are you going to have your Gladiator ceramic coated? I’m thinking hard about it. Would be interested to hear feedback from someone that has done it before.
Definitely No.
Haha. I plan on really using it and probably won't care if it stays clean. Ceramic coating is a waste of money on anything but supercars that must stay clean to look good IMO. WIth the Jeep the dirtier the better.
PPF is a definitely a good use of your cash on a Jeep I think given how much abuse you're likely to put it through. I wouldn't spring for anything as pricey as expel but I'm definitely going to do some sort of film on much of the panels that are likely to get scratched.

I'm really glad I opted not to get the LE and went the configured route instead. Aside from the cost savings, I'm likely to get my truck in the next 2-3 weeks and it's exactly how I want it (with a soft top). I hope for all the rest of the LE orders that Jeep puts in some last minute surprises in for you that make it a worthwhile deal.
when did you order and when did you get a vin? How are you figuring 2-3 weeks? I think you also ordered from travis? Just trying to get an estimate on when ic n see mine :D

I am also thinking hard about this ceramic coating. I don't mind getting this baby dirty. In fact I will get her dirty. I am concerned about where she will be parked. On the street next to the sprinklers. Hard water comes into mind.

Haha, ordered on 4/29 and got my Vin last week. I'm not estimating 2-3 week, I'm hoping against hope for 2-3 weeks. lol. And then I'll have to wait at least another week for it to ship to where I am.

My dealer informed me that two of his five launch edition customers backed out and bought the two they had on the lot since it was taking them so long. I have been hearing this is a common thing and that on any day you can check in and possibly order a launch edition.

LE buyers have little to lose buying off the lot cause it's likely going to cost less and most trucks going to dealers are well optioned anyway. All they'll miss is the LE badge and wheels. Small price to pay for getting some road time.

For me the leather wrapped dash is worth it. So just waiting on that.

Yeah, that's the big item I'll miss. But my guess is I can get that done locally for less than $500 with custom stitching and a logo embroidered in for extra fanciness. There's some amazing custom upholstery shops putting out factory finish work or better for reasonable prices if you can provide a good design. If I'm not mistaken it's only a couple of the panels that are leather wrapped anyway right?

Just a few things that they will miss buying off the lot. The most common ones are the front camera, and bluetooth speaker.
I really want the front camera. Could careless about the bluetooth. I wish the LE doesn't come with the tennoue cover so I can get the hard tri fold when they become available. I might just replace and sell.

I guess that's subjective. My configuration is $59K and it includes everything that can be added to a Rubicon minus a hard top. $62k to me is not "worthwhile" to get a limited edition especially if it means I have to wait longer. The different wheels and the leather dash have no value to me, but to others they obviously do. Add to that the fact that I'm getting 7% off dealer invoice, and most LE buyers are not getting as much of a discount, I would say it's obvious what I mean by worthwhile. But I give you that it's still somewhat subjective. Some people are willing to pay for things others can't understand. I paid $1500 to get my car ceramic coated which my neighbor didn't understand. He on the other hand paid $2500 for an ECU update that added around 20HP to a 550HP car. I can appreciate that we don't all see eye-to-eye.
Just fwiw most of us that ordered an LE did not pay that $62k mark. I’m OTD at $59k so waiting for me is well worth it. The dash is worth the wait to me plus I’ll probably get mine right around August which gives me plenty of time to see others configurations and setups. I’m honestly not even that upset about this whole process.
