Can mopar removable rooftop rack be used with kayaks?

Hi, was looking to get the mopar removable roof rack for my gladiator. From the description it mounts onto the roof gutters. I was wondering if this could be used to carry kayaks, maybe even using one of the various versions of the Thule kayak J hooks.
The notes mention bikes and other things but I'm not sure.

I work for a local outdoor outfitter here in PA where we sell Thule roof racks and have personal experience with Yakima racks. Thule makes the majority of the OEM racks.

According to Thule, they DO NOT recommend using the racks to carry kayaks. You're essentially adding a sail onto a fiberglass rain gutter.

We normally tell people that don't want to drop close to $1k on a rack set-up is to use pool noodles: one up front and one at the back of the boat so to not scratch your top, strap them them down and you're good to go.

Thank you. My preference is actually to put a cross rail above my mope hard tri fold tonneau cover. No success yet for an option. Seems like the mopar rail mgmt system might work. I'm looking into it.
