I've never ordered a car before this one, thats why I am wondering lol. I guess my salesperson said I couldn't pick it up until tommorow because they need to pair the keys and activate the radio and so thats why I said that lol and it seems like a long time for just those things. My first experience ordering a car was the Bronco and then the gladiator and so I'm a bit cynical about what the dealer/company tells me at this point which is why I have been asking you guys about what you may know.

I get that I am not the only person in the world which is why I am asking you guys what/why they would need that time instead of just nagging him about it when it's out of his control. Mainly I'm just exctied to pick it up especially when it's just sitting in a lot teasing me. :)
There ARE some dealers who make it sound really complex, others will get to it right away. A lot depends on the dealership, their management, their shop, or how many cars came in they need to get to.
Sales people won't know the details - not most of them so they'll tell us something that they believe will make sense to an ordinary buyer. IMO, I want them to tell me in detail - but my wife would tell them "don't bother telling me, just get it ready" LOL. She doesn't give a rip about the details or what they do. She'd not understand a word they said anyway. Me - give me the step by step.
I understand about being ready to get there post-haste to pick it up the second it's ready. Oh yeah. Even when my wife ordered her vehicles I couldn't wait to go pick them up with her. I was excited for her I think almost as excited as she was.
Cars and trucks are personal things, in a real way, often an extension of us. That's why "Madison Avenue' has for decades marketed toward our desires and emotions instead of giving us the fact about capacity and leg room or head room. Facts and figures don't sell cars and trucks. The appearance and cool factor does. Just look at commercials "when was the last time a car really excited you" - Nissan is one of the worst that way, but Lincoln is there too - square-jawed guy with certain shaped glasses, 6:00 shadow of a beard, dressed just so - appealing to emotions, not the facts about the new Lincoln SUV. Just look at this great looking cool guy! You'll look like this, too, in your new Lincoln.

Yeah,

have you checked with your dealer or with jeep chat?
In my personal experience jeep chat was always way off.

I also have every option but the bedliner, trail rail, and adaptive cruise control availbible to the willys. Mine was finished with build on 7/28. did you put any $ down? One thing my salesperson said is that if you put like 3k down it helps give the vehicle a bit of priority. Not sure if this is true or not but just trying to help you get some answers with how your situation compares. Good luck! maybe they just saw me crying on this thread for weeks on end lol.

HAHA - how? The dealer sits on that, Jeep never sees it. Every time the dealer plugs in your order - it goes in as "sold order". Down payment only makes it less likely that you'll walk away when it comes in.
Jeep has no idea what's been put down. Orders come in, they get assigned a VIN and they get built as they have parts.
If you put 3 grand down - you are less likely to not show up when it arrives.
I had some leverage as I put down a whopping $100 bucks. When it arrived I had in hand an offer from another dealership on the same vehicle. I told the dealer here I could go elsewhere and get 4K better price. I told them if they didn't knock 2K off, I was walking away and ordering at the other dealership. Yes, I'd have walked away from 100 bucks to save thousands.

You are probably right. I wouldn't have put it down if it wasn't fully refundable. I told them if I had any news on my bronco order that I would be canceling it. They mentioned that it may help but didn't pressure me to put any amount of $ down.

I am trying to help find any difference between @EddyArnold and my order to see if we can explain why two similar orders placed about a day apart would be at such different states.

I ordered a JTRD on July 5. Hyrdo Blue with every option except for hard top, spray in bedliner, bluetooth speaker, and the smokers group. I also ordered gorilla glass and the premium soft top.

On July 21, my dealer emails me a build date and Jeep Chat states that they have gathered all the parts for my Jeep and it's in line for build. On July 30, I get the dreaded email from Jeep Wave stating my expected delivery date is October 16... Then on August 9 Jeep Chat tells me that they're still scheduling parts for my Jeep... I asked the dealer why my Jeep would go backwards in status and he just stated that he has no other information except that it wasn't built on the scheduled build date.

It's just frustrating as they got my hopes up for a quick delivery and then they just killed that dream midway through...

For sure! About 3 or 4 weeks ago I was told (by my dealership) my build date was set for 8/6. then the shutdown, and now nothing. :| (I have not gotten any emails from Jeep btw)

The funniest thing is my wife...
...we have never even spent even close to this much money on a car or any "toy" but we pre-ordered a Bronco and that was getting ridiculous so we hopped over here to Gladdi and now this... (so we have been waiting close to a year now for our new toy)

she is asking me every day "have you heard anything about the jeep?" "do you think our order got lost?" "what should we do?"

...wish i had a better answer for ya honey! :brokenhearted:

I feel so bad, especially because I ordered a Bronco too, and switched just in time. I also wasn't sure I'd get my Gladiator either which is why I've been so active in this thread lol. If my Gladiator would have fell through too I would have been really salty. I was super upfront about my situation with the Bronco. They told me 4-6 weeks to deliver and I wasn't going to get to the 6th week and wait a vague amount of time after I picked it up 5 weeks and 6 days after ordering lmao.

I used to think orders got filled in order as long as mats are available. Now I assume it's unorganized and chaotic. I'm guessing the best way to get a car built fast in 2021 is to start a youtube channel and have a bunch of subscribers lol. I sure see a lot of youtubers with Broncos that I'm almost positive were not ordered before mine was.

At least you got an order in for a Jeep instead of waiting on a Bronco. Ford stopped Bronco production recently. They need to replace every hardtop on Broncos that were already built/sold because weather is peeling away layers on the hardtop to reveal it's internal honeycomb and the internal liners are disintegrating off the top into dust. It will be a very long time before Bronco production to normal customers picks up steam.

Not sure if that makes you feel better, but you still will have a toy the fastest by waiting for the jeep. Maybe you could switch to a Wrangler. I don't know if that is appealing to you or if it will be any faster, but from my understanding they plan to prioritze Wrangler production.

I heard from Jeep Chat today my JTR Snazzberry is in the shipping stage? The email from Jeep had an ETA of 9/6. I sure hope it's here before the Labor Day weekend?
Ordered 7/2, pretty much fully loaded 3.6 w/gorilla glass, all packages ex. smoker's. Black hard top, color fenders, steel bumper, trail cam, full time 4wd

When jeep chat finally said mine was in the shipping stage it was in about a week later (to Wisconsin). Hopefully you can see her soon!

Well, I'll jump on board - my LE was rear ended on June 15, was just where I wanted it as far as moderate builds go, had JUST installed a RLD cap on it about 1.5 months prior, waited 5 months to get it...then I was hit. 17 yo kid came up to me on a dead stop about 40-50 mph. Totaled his Land Rover instantly, mine looked good, still drivable - but was later determined totaled due to frame bends and other damage. Took 60 days to settle, I got hosed, that's for another day.

I ordered my replacement JTR Snazz diesel on July 24...2 YEARS TO THE DAY I drove my LE home. Realized that as I signed the papers for the order, anyway...got an email with my new VIN, and days later I see the plant shut down and there is a chip shortage  FML

Anyway, I have a well built JKUR that I'm daily driving now, otherwise been a toy for the trails...but I sure miss the JT and can't wait to get back into one. Ripped all the goods off my LE cuz insurance bent me over - so I'm prepped and ready for the new ride to show up and start this process all over again - ugh!!

That said, status, build progress, changes, etc, it's a waiting game. Nothing out there used trips my trigger after having a LE and ordering all the bells n whistles again, so unless something pops up that is just too good to be true that I snag reasonably (and price is another story today, wow), I patiently wait. Also, so much for selling my JKUR now, which was the plan...but everything is for sale, right - LOL!!!

Rubicon - Snazz Diesel. Loaded. Waiting.
