I tow 5,000 pounds, hilly roads and highways, no problem. The engine is SUPPOSED to scream. They don't even open the valves fully until 3,000 RPM.The 3.6 is merely adequate for daily driving a minimal towing. Towing anything over 4,000lbs is an exercise in frustration and a screaming engine.
Drive a 1/2 ton Silverado with an LS and watch that baby kick up to 5,000 RPM on the same hills my JT does at a lower RPM.
It's modern gas engines. HP through RPM.
