I didn’t take any close ups, but it’s definitely legit. I used it on my 2020 that’s never spent a night inside its whole life and my 2016 club car that lives outside nine months of the year. Both had servers neglected plastics. On the Jeep, the wiper cowl, fender flare trim, tailgate and bed trim, door handles, and the door handles were getting pretty bad. It hadn’t been detailed in three years and I spent all day yesterday detailing it. I did the cerakote today. Yesterday, I got the paint looking new again. Today, the trim looks like new again. Hopefully, the cerakote lasts.

as I said, it lasted over 4 years on my Cherokee. Stuff is super legit. Just don’t get it on paint or your hands. If it fails contact them, they’ll send you a new bag.

The reason that I said that is because I detailed cars for years and typically once the plastic is faded from UV rays like my cowl trim was, nothing lasts and it fades quickly. I used gloves and kept it off the paint. Thank you for the tips.

A good friend recommended it because of his success with their other firearm related products.

i am fairly sure the firearm stuff is different than the vehicle stuff. same company afaik.
I've never used the firearm stuff, but i have heard great things. It has rained about every other day since i did this to my truck. if i get a decent day I'll post some updated pics. It looks as good now as when I did it.

Same company. He just found them through that side of the business and bought their trim restorer and had good success with it and recommended it to me.

Wait until you restore a car that's 30 years old, was originally sold around the deserts of NV, then ended up on CA sitting in an open field for 10 years in the sun..........
Touch it - it crumbles.

I can only imagine. I’m starting to run into that with our Z32 (Nissan 300ZX). It only has 38k and it’s garage kept, but I keep breaking plastic parts when I work on it. I cracked the wiper cowl trim when I put a new battery in it recently and it’s obscenely expensive to replace.

Thankfully, no plastic on the Model As. lol

I have a couple of friends with Z32's. Parts are hard to get. Forget about getting a windshield. Z1 is running out of oem parts for it. My Z34 is 13 yrs old. Hopefully I can get parts for it when it's 20 yrs old.

Thankfully, it’s still in good shape and rarely hits the hwy.

Ah, one of the things on my wife's wish list of cars.
My father was into them. I’m actually working on the 31 coupe right now. The zenith carb is disassembled and in the ultra sonic cleaner. He left me a 1930 Sedan Delivery. I have the brakes torn apart putting cast iron drums on it. They work a lot better than the original pressed steel when they get warm. They’re both in the background of the pics I posted in this thread. The huge mess is the brake parts. lol.

I just got some Cerakote to put on the faded plastic bedrails lining the top of the bed, but I’m about to also put a topper on it next week. If I let the Cerakote cure for a couple days before installing the topper would it still eat away the rubber gasket under the topper?

iT NEEDS ABOUT 2-3 HOURS TO DRY.

the reason not to put on rubber is because it will flex, stretch and move with temp changes and look like total azz.

You will be fine after about 3 hours of dry time.
