I get that frustration. I had a 2017 Canyon when they were new and it was the first year of the new drivetrain, it turned out to be a great truck, but it was the first year of the 8AT and when I first got it I had a lot of problems with it and they didn’t know how to fix it. It was literally trial and error. It got a few different fluids, programming, new valve body, etc. they were just throwing parts at it. GM corporate kept having new TSBs and none worked. I finally got so mad that I told my service advisor that I wasn’t going to pick it back up till they had it fixed properly. He said ok I understand. Let me grab my manager. He sent a finance manager in to sell me an extended warranty. I about lost it.

I maintained my composure and left and left my truck there and told him to have the service manager call me. He did and was super cool and told me that he knew what was wrong with it but needed it for a few weeks to jump through the proper hoops with GM for the proper fix. He gave me a really nice loaner so I was good. It turned out that the fluid was hygroscopic and that’s why the problem kept coming back. They flushed it and put in the new fluid (3rd one iirc) and did some programming again and it was finally fixed. I never had a problem with it again. I almost went to jail for assault that day though. 🤣

Service writer is a long time family friend (went to high school w/my daughter who also used to work at this same dealer) and didn't want her to be the one who wrote this up because I didn't want anything negative to come back on her. Sent a "contact us" to the dealer, very direct and somewhat sarcastic so far nothing. Its the cat and mouse game now and I have all the time in the world of time to wait. In a way its almost fun.

My daughter works for the automotive group that owns the local dealer. Not going to get her involved but she can surely get me some contact info for them.
