Definitely good news and hopefully it will continue, but a slight uptick after seeing a decline for 12 consecutive quarters could simply be an anomaly and isn't exactly convincing... yet.

You will note that these are just the sales numbers. The moment of truth is the earnings report at the end of the month and we'll see if they're actually making money on these things.

I mean their biggest sales increases are in the Wagoneer and minivans. I have a hard time believing they are achieving these numbers in this economy without heavy discounts. But we'll see.

They have had some decent discounts since I bought mine in March. They currently have 7500 off select models in dealer inventory, as well as other "offers".

Well. Guess I won't be getting back in a Gladiator. Love my Wrangler 4xe but was looking forward to a JT one. V8 is a big pass for me. Overpriced and thirsty. Torque not as down low
Yeah, me too. We have a RAV4 Prime PHEV with rooftop solar and it would have been great. I'm getting tired of 15 mpg on a good day, not that the hybrid Tacoma is much better.

Looks like they still haven't figured this out. Maybe that's why the Gladiator 4XE is dead.
Brand new recall.

"

Roughly one year ago, Stellantis recalled nearly 200,000 4xe plug-in hybrid Jeeps because of a battery fire risk. Now, Jeep's PHEV SUVs are being recalled again, with the owners of 320,000 vehicles affected by this recall being advised to refrain from charging their vehicles and to park outside and away from buildings due to the risk of a fire.

The latest recall includes 228,221 examples of 2020–2025 model year Jeep Wrangler 4xe SUVs and 91,844 examples of 2022–2026 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe SUVs. It is estimated that about 5 percent of the recall population, or roughly 16,000 vehicles, suffer from the problem.

The issue stems from high voltage (HV) battery packs manufactured with cells that may be susceptible to separator damage. An investigation that began in July found that some of these Jeep 4xe vehicles experienced a HV battery fire. Nine of these fires originated in vehicles that already had the software remedy from the previous recall applied. An additional 10 fires were reported in vehicles that were outside the scope of the original recall. One injury has been reported related to these fires.

That's a good way to put it................ they haven't figured it out.
There's been 2 recalls to date, if I recall correctly.
We got the first one, passed that test, were not in the second one, and now this.
I believe what's happened is that they are finding out the original "issue" there in more batteries than Samsung reported.
(They are Samsung batteries)
I never could figure out how software was going to detect the issue. How can you tell if there's a physical issue with the way the battery is manufactured with software put into the vehicle?

NHTSA says our VIN isn't in any recalls................. so we'll see.

I've been saying for a long time (https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...ng-says-head-of-jeep-brand.72850/post-1190324) that the 4xe wasn't ever going to exist. Amy Delcamp, director of Jeep Brand Communications confirms it here:

“The Jeep Gladiator carries its rugged styling and authentic design into 2026 while adding incredible new content straight from the factory. It will continue to serve as the industry’s only open-air pickup truck, combining legendary Jeep 4×4 capability with exceptional everyday versatility,” said Amy Delcamp, Director of Jeep Brand Communications, in response to an emailed request for comment.

“As customers’ propulsion preferences for battery-electric trucks continue to evolve, Stellantis is reassessing its product strategy and will no longer include an electrified Gladiator variant in the Jeep lineup,” she continued. “The Jeep brand has already begun reinvesting funding to ensure the long-term growth of the Jeep Gladiator and will introduce even more customer-requested factory features, customization, and additional powertrain options in the near future.” (1)

I pointed something out August 20 of last year. That was the day that a UAW manager was the first- and only- person to ever say that anybody was ramping up for production of a 4xe Gladiator in any official sense outside of a couple of YouTube videos with ambiguous promises. And we still hadn't even seen a mule. There was an announcement of a new transmission, but that's par for the course.

But I knew that it wasn’t ever going to happen when that news clip dropped on local Toledo news. Because in WHAT WORLD does a publicly traded company such as Jeep make a platform that is going to share its most successful recipe (the Wrangler 4xe, which at the time, and probably still is, the best selling PHEV in the states) and let a freakin’ UAW manager be the one to announce it on local news. Thats insane. That’s an investor phone call followed by a powerpoint presentation that you invite the press to. But instead… a 5 minute interstitial on local news? Thats CRAZY. That isn't real.

It was at that point- literally the point at which I saw that newscast- that I knew it was never going to exist.

The next day- august 21, 2024, I offloaded every one of my shares of STLA at about $16/share. Because in my entire life I have NEVER seen a situation where news that is that significant is announced by a union boss on local news. It makes NO SENSE. I honestly thought I was taking crazy pills. I was being told I was crazy. Obviously you can see based on the length and emotion in this post that I was pretty scarred by people telling me I was a moron.

And then the CEO did a little dog and pony show with the TrailRecon guy, which again, is NOT how a CEO would announce that their publicly traded company is putting their best selling formula into a (at least by sales numbers) middle of the road truck.

I still get frustrated thinking about just how many people looked at me like a had a great big green... appendage.... on my forehead when I brought all of this up to them.

Anyways. It feels good to be right.

That new transmission is a reality, it exists, better range, more power.

For sure. I meant that it was par for the course in that its an efficiency boost and didn't need a 4xe platform to be a worthwhile improvement.

You realize that it was only not made because they couldn't get the towing right and that they had all the mules and such for it. So while you were right that it didn't get officially made it wasn't because it was vapor ware or not seriously attempted. Just a technical constraint.

The transmission is for the 4xe.
It's coming in the Wrangler 4xe after the first of the year.
More range (with the same batteries) and more HP and torque out of the electric motor.
It likely would have gone into the JT 4xe but is indeed going into the JLU 4xe.

I certainly believe it was attempted. I just don't think it ever got far enough along to warrant so much as a footnote on a quarterly report.

The official wording was "As customers’ propulsion preferences for battery-electric trucks continue to evolve, Stellantis is reassessing its product strategy and will no longer include an electrified Gladiator variant in the Jeep lineup".

But until someone with a Stellantis badge creates an account here we're probably never going to know the full reasoning behind it.

we're probably never going to know the full reasoning behind it.
It boils down to cost and profitability. Under the Biden Administration, there were manufacturing grants, consumer tax credits, and other incentives that made it possible. Those monies and benefits are now gone.
